Biography
WANG Chengbo is now the academci/training director of LEAD-China and also the fellow of Cohort-5. His responsibilities there are to help NPD(the National Program Director) organize, implement and monitor all related activities of LEAD-China Program, especially focusing on the national and international training sessions; and to help NPD coordinate and develop the public relations with the external societies at national and international level. Since 1995, he has been involved in LEAD-China Program activities as a program coordinator.
Before that, he was a program officer, economist and researcher at the National Training Center for Executives in Poor Areas of China, where he is responsible for project implementation and training. He maintains close contact with various international organizations and plans to concentrate on studies of rural sustainable development and poverty alleviation.
He has a master's degree from the Biology College of Beijing Agricultural University (1991) and got a BA in Horticulture from Hunan Agricultural College, Changsha, China in 1985. He has also received additional training in project management, economic development and computer operation in China and abroad, and he is right now a PhD candidate in Environmental Economics in Renmin University of China and expected to get the degree in December of 2004.
