Training across cultures: A handbook for trainers and facilitators working around the world

This book is a collection of short chapters aimed to help international trainers working outside their own cultures with national groups of learners in Brazil, Canada, China, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Francophone Africa, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Southern Africa, and the United Kingdom. A final chapter provides tips for working effectively with mixed international groups. Each short chapter addresses issues that are common in training situations such as: understanding cultural identity, gender issues, building trust, anticipating and meeting diverse expectations, logistical surprises, and food and leisure time. These chapters have been team-written by expert trainers representing each of the countries and regions in the book, and supplemented with input from other training experts.
