Food security & agriculture
In recent years, there has been considerable concern about human capacity to produce adequate food to meet the needs of both growing populations and enhanced purchasing power resulting in the higher consumption of agricultural products. The concern arises from the fatigue of the green revolution as well as the growing damage to the ecological foundations essential for sustainable food security, such as land, water, biodiversity, forests and the atmosphere.
