LEAD Canada selected for GRI training
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a multi-stakeholder governed institution collaborating to provide a global sustainability reporting framework (see www.globalreporting.org), has pre-selected LEAD Canada to provide GRI-certified training in Canada. Timing for such an initiative may be particularly favorable in the extractive sector. The recent Advisory Group Report on the Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Canadian Extractive Industry highlighted cross-sectoral convergence around GRI’s reporting standards.
LEAD Canada has just successfully concluded a Memorandum of Understanding. The MOU permits to market and deliver GRI-certified courses over the next two years in Canada. Over the next two months, LEAD Canada will be embarking on developing the curriculum and securing GRIʼ certification. LEAD Canada now welcomes founding sponsors to help develop and launch this important initiative.
If you are interested in a co-sponsorship opportunity and/or promote sustainability reporting in line with the internationally-recognized GRI reporting framework, please contact us. We also welcome pre-registration of anyone who may be interested in either attending these two-day courses in Canada or receive further information/updates. Correspondence can be forwarded to Merhdad Nazari (Cohort 7).
