Views and reflection about LEAD

The LEAD Training was a unique experience and opportunity. It was a turning point for my professional career. One feels honour to be part of LEAD family.

The first international session of my training at Lahore (2001) was a great event in the history of Pakistan. The 240 LEADers from 45 countries have exchanged their views on “Sustainable Community Development: A Challenge for Governance and Resource Management”.

Being a student of natural science it was a great opportunity to exchange views with international community/leaders on a topic other than my specialisation. Overall LEAD is very successful at bringing together the multi-professionals and multi-cultures.

Building Awareness

The LEAD programme has provided a great chance to present the real and right image of Pakistan and Islam to the international community,  as some people might have miss-conceptions/impressions about this country. The international LEAD participants left Pakistan with positive impression and appreciation to our hospitality and quality of training during the Lahore session.

An important outcome of the LEAD programme is the creation of awareness among policy and decision makers of this country.

In my opinion for Sustainable Community Development, “4Es” Economic-Energy-Environment-Ecology and Human Resource Development have key role and LEAD has addressed these in details during our training sessions.

Strength of the Network

LEAD training and electronic network has already contributed a lot to my professional career and I have been given important assignments and participated in policy and planning related to the energy sector. The professional linkages and interest groups have been developed during international and regional sessions for future collaboration.
