Sanitation Project

Cohort 12 LEAD-AWA fellows are currently initiating a project to be supported by UNICEF to develop an Action Plan for implementation during the 2008 International Year of Sanitation.

The main targets of the Plan are:

• develop enabling sustainable environment to expand sanitation and hygiene programmes
• advocacy for construction of toilets in primary schools, health centers and public places
• health and sanitation campaigns at local, state and federal levels.
