LEAD Europe Fellowship Programme 2008 open for applications
LEAD is currently recuriting for an intern to work as part of the team organising and developing our next International Session on Sustainable cities in a Changing World, which will take place in Mexico City in November 2008.
The international session is a 7 day training and leadership development event for over 150 participants from LEAD programmes all around the world and has been a core feature of the LEAD training programme since 1992. These cross-cultural, multi-sectoral events bring together diverse groups of emerging leaders, primarily from the developing world, to share experience and hone skills in meeting key sustainability challenges.
The internship is based in our LEAD Mexico office in Mexico City for eight months starting in April 2008. The two first weeks of the internship will be based at the LEAD International Secretariat in London.
Main Duties
- Research and write a case study related to the theme of the international session
- Help the LEAD Mexico office to coordinate efforts with our Secretariat in London with aspects mainly related, but not restricted to, logistics
- Support LEAD Mexico office to liaise and meet with local partners and stakeholders
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of/or acquaintance with issues related to megacities, urbanization, environment and sustainability
- Research skills
- The ability to write and present information effectively
- Ability to communicate with different stakeholders and understanding of cultural differences
- Good proficiency in Spanish
Terms and Conditions
Accommodation and a small stipend to cover other living costs will be provided for the duration of the internship.
