Aristide's Story

2015-UNDPAristide Komze, Cameroon

A global dream to challenge the global warming!

A cohort [of LEAD Fellows] is like a family. Members of a cohort are linked by the same destiny because they are in the same process and then, they acquire the LEAD spirit. A spirit of solidarity, a spirit of conviviality and a common destiny with the same goal: working together to promote the ideas of protecting environment and the venue of sustainable development.

Beyond the studying opportunities that are related to the participation at an International Training Session, one thing is very relevant for me. It’s the fact that human being is at the same time unique and diverse in its physical and cultural aspects.

It’s the first time that me, a Bantu, coming from central Africa, I felt so close with China, India, Great Britain, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia… My country, Cameroon, is geographically very far of all these countries. But LEAD shows me that I am so close with all these people because of my human being condition.

It’s also very exciting to have the same goal, the same dream: the dream of a better world for us and the next generations. It was also the first time in my life that I saw together teachers, students, civil servants, journalists, business men and so on. A professional melting pot full of humility. For me, that’s the best way to show that everyone has something to do to build a world of justice and equity. And, the last but not the least, the International Training Session gave me the occasion to ameliorate my practice of English with free courses near of dozens of teachers from all areas of the world.

LEAD is a world network which offer opportunities to share ideas and dreams. LEAD is also the occasion to learn some thing new each day. To be a part of this wonderful team is a unique occasion to tell what you think and an occasion to be heard by thousands and thousands of millions of ears.

LEAD is more than give a direction or a sense to one life, LEAD is life in a good direction or sense.
