Cristhian's Story

Creating new perspectives

The world demands a change in the consumption patterns and a use of resources in an efficient way from all the sectors. The complex network of actors in the growth and development is more and more complex every time and if you are an actor or a person interested in contributing to the society where you live, in positive changes, you must participate in program LEAD.

Centuries ago, Confucius pronounced: “Tell me and I will forget. Show me and I will remember. Involve me and I will understand.” and this is the way the LEAD program works: involving the participants.

I have been participating in the twelth cohort of LEAD Mexico program and through its different sessions, I have noticed the different visions from the stakeholders of our societies and the complex network of interrelations between we all.

I work in Guatemala developing energy generation projects through renewable sources and I keep continuous communication with the social sectors of each phase. LEAD has facilitated me new perspective in the environmental sustainability for the management of the actions, negotiations and planning in local, regional, national, and international scales.

Cristian Escobar and Lacandon Lider

I will not forget that in one of the sessions when we visited the social actors of the Lacandona Forest in the Chiapas State in Mexico, I met a Leader of the Lacandon Community that in close conversation, expressed its concern to me about the management and the sustainability of the natural resources.

There is no difference between a developed or developing countries. Today the world demands leadership. LEAD prepares you to be a leader. I invite you to participate.
