The first leadership event of our 2007 Fellows Training Programme

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan recently commented on the "frightening lack of leadership" on climate change. The LEAD Europe session focused on the challenges and opportunities for leadership on climate change across various sectors.

Case Study and Site Visits

Objectives of the training:

  • showcasing London's cutting-edge responses to climate change that lead the field internationally

  • site visits to progressive climate change initiatives in London to get a deep understanding of what is desirable and possible in responding to climate change

  • challenging traditional notions of leadership with progressive participatory teaching techniques, including multi-stakeholder dialogue and inclusive cross-cultural processes

  • integrating and applying systems thinking as a method for enhancing understanding and inspiring transformational change

  • an event workbook that will provide participants with a collective starting point prior to the session as well as a valuable resource with a range of articles, photos, and links to other sources

"International Issues, International Solutions?"

Exploring the mechanisms to promote sustainable development through multilateral systems and the negotiation processes involved in global governance.

Session 3: Balaton

"Engaging Stakeholders in Common Pool Resource Management"

Applying practical leadership skills in engagement, communication and teamwork to real-life development issues in a lake region of Hungary.
