An in-school recycling programme developed by LEAD Fellow Patricia Diaku has received recognition from the Ministry of the Environment in Lagos, Nigeria, and will be rolled-out in schools across the State.
Following her book on the governance of lake ecosystems, LEAD Canada Fellow Velma I. Grover has published “Impact of Climate Change on Water and Health”. The book, edited by Grover and featuring submissions from over 30 water and climate experts, explores the link between water and health, and the way that the two are affected by climate change.
LEAD Canada Fellow Velma I. Grover’s co-edited book, “Great Lakes: Lessons in Participatory Governance”, looks at the management of the Great Lakes basin of North America. Commenting on a poorly documented area, her aim is to highlight the successes and failures of the management practices so that the lessons learned can be applied to watershed ecosystems around the world. The book also gives a comparative example of the African Great Lakes to help with this aim of sharing best practice internationally.
LEAD Canada Fellow Dr Glenn Sutter has co-authored a paper that draws attention to the role that museums can play in sustainability education.
