The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) supports decision makers in designing and delivering climate compatible development – a form of development that seeks to minimise the impact on the planet.
CDKN promotes the achievement of climate compatible development through a combination of research, advisory services and knowledge sharing in support of locally owned and managed policy processes. It works in partnership with decision makers in the public, private and non-governmental sectors national, regionally and globally.
CDKN is delivered through an alliance of organisations including LEAD International, which leads on fostering and strengthening local, regional and global partnerships. In addition, Member Programme LEAD Pakistan is also an alliance member, encouraging partnerships and implementing projects and activities across the Asia region.
The new CDKN Innovation Fund aims to promote innovative thinking and innovative action on climate change and development issues. The Fund is flexible: it will support both the process through which pioneering ideas can be transformed into project proposals as well as pre-prepared research proposals.
The overall budget of this funding round is £1.1 million and applications are invited on the following themes:
The first round of applications will close on 28th October 2011 at 17:00 (GMT+1). Future funding rounds will be announced on the CDKN website.
