LEAD Southern and Eastern Africa (LEAD SEA) will host this year's Pan-African Session of the LEAD Africa Fellowship training programme. The Session, entitled Population and Climate Change – Towards a Climate Compatible Development for Africa, will run from 10-15 September 2012.
The Pan-African Session provides a unique opportunity for LEAD Associates to meet and work with professionals from the continent and to consider key sustainability and development issues.
It aims to:
• Widen knowledge on climate change and population linkages
• Increase understanding of climate compatible development and promoting sustainable livelihoods
• Increase opportunities for networking among Fellows and stakeholders working on climate change and
sustainable development
• Increase knowledge for national/local development planning from case studies research
• Enhance understanding of Green Economy, climate investing and financing
• Showcase strategies to minimise climate-change related threats
During the Pan African Session, Associates will participate in skills training on leadership and development, join site visits and engage in interactive discussions and presentations. They will also engage with each other and experts in different fields through discussions, practical exercises and networking, and be trained on proposal writing and project implementation.
