Biography
After graduated from Aeronautical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, she developed ELSPPAT, an NGO which does community development in rural area. Since 1997 organic agriculture is the center of their activities. She started her career as coordinator for local technology documentation that can be applied for rural residents (1995-1996), training program coordinator (1997-1998), executive director (1998-2000) and chief of board of director of ELSPPAT Foundation (2000-2002). To increase the quality of democracy in ELSPPAT, ELSPPAT Foundation has been transformed into ELSPPAT Community, where she is one of its member.
To systematize her experience in grassroot level and to have deeper understanding about social studies from academic point a view, she took MA Degree in Agricultural and Rural Development at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands from September 2000 to December 2001.
In 2002, she developed KAIL (Kuncup Padang Ilalang), an organization which specialized in capacity building for activist. Through this organization she hopes that she can influence more people to increase their awareness and analytical skills to address environmental and social problems. Her concerns are mostly on study skills, planning and evaluation, capacity building.
Together with her partner, David Sutasurya, she has developed several training moduls on System Thinking for various purposes. These moduls has been tested in several KAIL regular training program as well as for specific use that is specially design for client’s need.
She has various training and facilitating experiences, especially in NGO sectors and universities, ranges from very local level such as facilitating poor women’s group meeting in rural/urban areas to team building for international group on sustainable development.
She joined LEAD Program in 1998 as part of cohort 7. After finishing her associate program, she has been involved in training development in LEAD Indonesia. Since 2005, she was chosen as Secretary of LEAD Indonesia Board of Director.
