Chitra RAJAGOPAL

Biography

Chitra RAJAGOPAL has been with the Centre for Environment and Explosive Safety(DRDO) for twelve years.

She has been involved in and is handling various projects in the field of environmental safety and audit,disaster management,development of waste/effluent treatment technologies, hazard and safety analysis of process plants handling hazardous chemicals. She is interested in developing alternative technologies for reducing toxic effluents and emissions forstationary and mobile sources, improving health and safety standards in the workplace, and increasing environmental awareness. She has published and presented more than 40 papers in Intl and National journals and Conferences. She has delivered lectures on industrial, environment and occupational safety, waste treatment technologies, disaster management among others in national and International fora. She is presently guiding 4 researchers in their doctoral work.

She has a doctorate in chemical engineering with a focus in heat transfer.
