Biography

Soham A. Pandya is Director at the Centre of Science for Villages. He is involved in promoting appropriate technologies that will contribute to the generation of employment at the grassroots level in rural areas. These technologies include biotechnology, economic botany, phyto-chemistry, tissue culture and ecology. He is developing technological packages for land cover management with the active involvement of villagers and tribal members. The objective is to achieve optimum productivity and economic activity in a sustainable manner in the farm and village, based on eco-friendly low-energy inputs that are sustainable and fulfill the principle of equity.
