Mahesh K. PATIL

Biography

MAHESH K. PATIL works at Sesa Goa Limited (a subsidiary of Mitsui and Company of Japan) as General Manager Environment. He is responsible for Environment and Community Development activities in Sesa Group of Companies where the activities include environmental Impact assessment, environmental management planning and monitoring environment for iron ore mine, pig iron plant and coke oven plant. He also works on the implementation, and development of strategies pertaining to solid-waste disposal, erosion control land reclamation and community development initiatives. His areas of operations are in the states of Goa, Karnataka Orissa and Jharkhand.

M.K. Patil is a certified ISO auditor. He won a national award for outstanding efforts in mine-land reclamation and the sustainable utilization of natural resources. He has a master's degree in agriculture with a specialization in plant pathology from the University of Agricultural Science, Karnataka and MBA from Goa Institution of Management. He also has a postgraduate degree in ecology and the environment.
