Biography
Dhananjai Mohan is an Associate Professor at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh, and is a member of the Indian Forest Service, Uttar Pradesh Cadre. His main responsibility is to train the freshly recruited Indian Forest Service Officers. He previously was involved in planning and management in the Wildlife Wing of the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department, where he was actively involved in preparing the management plans for the four protected areas of Garhwal and the Himlayas. Later he also served as the Divisional Forest Officer at the bio-diversity rich Katarniaghat Wildlife Division in the UP Terai. He has also served as the Silviculturist where he was conducting and coordinating forestry research in the foothills and terai zone of sub-Himalayan Uttar Pradesh.
D. Mohan has published more than two dozen research papers, notes and articles related to the environment and development. As a college student, he established a nature club at IIT, Kanpur, and organized field outings, nature camps and talks related to nature and wildlife. He received his degree in electrical engineering from IIT, Kanpur. He recieved Associate of Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy diploma (honours) in the year 1990. His postgraduate work was in wildlife management and ecodevelopment planning at Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
