Shailendra Kumar JOSHI

Biography

Shailendra Kumar Joshi is currently Director, International Cooperation and Sustainable Development Division in the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, New Delhi.His current charge includes developing Strategies forSustainable Development and follow up to WSSD. He deals with matters related to UNEP, UNDP, GEF and World Bank in India.

He is a professional Civil Servant with wide-ranging experience at both policy formulation and implementation levels. In addition to environment sector, he has worked in the Ministries of Power, Non-Conventional Energy Sources and Agriculture. At state level, he had worked in the Health sector and had rich field experience.

S.K. Joshi holds a master's degree in communications and radar engineering from IIT,New Delhi and a bachelor's degree in electronics and communications from the University of Roorkee (now IIT, Roorkee) India.
