Biography

Kirit Kumar Khodidas PATEL is a research associate at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, where he is involved with a multi-disciplinary project on 'Indigenous Knowledge Systems' of rural people. He is a core member, founder and honorary secretary of the Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions (SRISTI).

K.K.K. Patel is actively involved with organizing students at Vidyapith (a graduate school based on Gandhi's philosophy) and also in the documentation and dissemination of traditional and contemporary innovations in technology. He also is an associate editor of 'Honey Bee', a newsletter that discusses innovative technologies developed by rural people. He assisted in the organization of a 1997 international conference on creativity and innovation in India. He has a master's degree in agriculture.
