Hannah currently works as Policy Co-ordinator at Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future, leading on the organisation’s policy work in the area of sustainable development. She co-ordinates the Global Public Policy Network on Water Management, which is leading multi-stakeholder advocacy on water and adaptation issues for the climate change negotiations leading up to COP-15 in Copenhagen. She has conducted global consultations on issues relating to sustainable development, the Millennium Development Goals and ecosystem services, and has advised the United Nations Environment Programme on how to enhance the role of third sector organisations in their work. She will be co-ordinating civil society input to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in November 2009, and is helping to lead Stakeholder Forum’s advocacy work calling for an Earth Summit in 2012.
Prior to joining Stakeholder Forum, Hannah worked as a press officer at Futerra Sustainability Communications, where she worked with a range of public, private and third sector clients to enhance media strategy and messaging on sustainable development issues.
Hannah has had a long-standing interest in sustainable development issues – as a sabbatical officer at Oxford University Student Union her portfolio focussed on charity, community and environment issues, and after leaving the student union she spent 2 months as a researcher in a Tibetan human rights NGO in India, focussing on the links between a safe and healthy environment and the enjoyment of human rights.
Hannah lives in Stoke Newington and in her spare time enjoys all varieties of London culture, cycling almost everywhere and discovering new places, and escaping periodically to the seaside and the countryside to remember why all the hard work is worth it.
