Biography
Caroline Rennie has worked in the Environmental domain for 25 years with companies, government and NGOs in the US and Europe. She served as Environmental Affairs Director for Schmalbach-Lubeca PET (formerly Continental Can, and, at the time the largest manufacturer of PET preforms in the world) and then Tetra Pak UK. Prior to that she was political advisor for the Vice Chair of the California Integrated Waste Management Board; a role she took after serving as Marketing Manager for Envirothene, a plastics recycling firm in Los Angeles.
Caroline worked for the Institute for Local Self Reliance as lead author on Salvaging the Future, a study exploring the economic value inherent to a city that mined its waste streams for material. She served as Chair of Petcore (PET container recycling organisation in Europe), the Board of the National Recycling Coalition in the US, and worked with the Chicago Board of Trade as they set up their recycling commodities exchange.
Caroline has worked in change management, communications and leadership for Tetra Pak International, leading and supporting large scale change projects such as incorporating the environment/sustainability into business, and implementing and managing a customer satisfaction programme. She has developed and run leadership, communications, change and sustainability trainings, and is dedicated to highly participatory, experiential learning that links meaningfully to every-day life.
Caroline has a certificate in “Leading Meaningful Change” from Pro-Dev’s International Professional Development Programme, and is licensed to provide the Springboard programme for women, and Coaching for Great Work.
