Biography
Rachel Madan is a corporate responsibility consultant specialising in the area of climate change and sustainability communication, strategy, and policy implementation. She is currently serving as the sustainability advisor to Tate under the UK’s Cultural Leadership Programme ‘Peach’ Placement. Rachel’s approach to sustainability blends scientific understanding with a communications approach. For the past nine years, her career has focused on outreach to industry in the areas of energy efficiency and in particular, climate change.
She has worked for The Alliance to Save Energy and the US Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC, The Gold Standard in Basel, Switzerland, and Radley Yeldar Ltd in London. Rachel holds a B.S. in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Rochester and an MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics. An avid supporter of the arts, she plays the clarinet in the Bloomsbury Wind Ensemble and appeared in the Washington DC‐based Capital Arts Workshop production of The Mikado.
