Biography
I am qualified primary school teacher from Cyprus and I have a keen interest in Education for Sustainable Development. During my 8year teaching career,
I have been actively involved in various Environmental Education projects and I had always a leadership role in organising, planning and delivering outdoor environmental activities.
In 2001-2002,I was the scientific coordinator of the research project about ‘The Conservation of Griffon Vulture (Gyps Fulvus) in Cyprus’ and in 2002-2003 I have promoted a project with students aged 12 year old on ‘Using Barn Owls (Tyto Alba) for rodents’ biological control’. Both these projects were awarded with the 2nd prize in the annual competition of the Research Promotion Foundation-Cyprus. Also, since 1997 I have
been voluntarily participating as a Team Leader at Prodromos Residential Camping Site and I have been promoting outdoor environmental activities among students aged 10-12 year old.
My research interests are: teachers’ professional development in the domain of Education for Sustainability; Curriculum integration and creativity in the field of Sustainable Development; and development of environmental attitudes and educational interventions among primary school students.
