Biography
Lionel Prodgers is an independent consultant advising companies on strategic business development and transformation in facilities and property management, including sustainable best practice in the built environment. His company, agent4FM, based in London, UK specializes in international portfolio work encompassing business processes systems and performance measurement and improvement.
Lionel’s career started in the UK commercial real estate sector in the early 70’s, where he specialized in corporate real estate acquisitions and management. He is credited with founding the first facilities management company in 1984, and has taken a keen interest in the development of the management discipline ever since. He has held senior executive posts in a number of companies. In his consulting work he has advised many blue chip companies in the organization and development of their FM operations, and most recently in the Middle East GCC countries.
In his professional capacity Lionel was chairman of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) between 1997 & 2000 and chairman of the European Facility Management Network (EuroFM) based in The Netherlands from 2000 to 2005. He is currently a board director of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) based in Houston,U.S.A.
Lionel is a regular speaker and writer on facilities management issues, and intends to use his involvement with the LEAD network to better articulate the inextricable link between operational support services and ‘cost of use’ of energy and materials in business and the benefits that sustainable development can deliver to the bottom line.
Lionel is married with two children, and in his spare time enjoys the arts – in particular music and the theatre –and travel.
