Biography
I come from a small town where the local economy was dependent upon the extraction of fossil fuel sources, such as coal mining, and was directly affected by ultimately unsustainable nature of this industry and the resulting consequences exerted on the local community. During my undergraduate degree I took several elective courses related to environmental studies and following this I made the decision to attain a master’s degree in environmental studies so that I would later be able to pursue a career that would allow me to participate in activities supportive of sustainable livelihoods.
MA, Environmental Studies – Implementation of Sustainable Energy Strategies, York University
BA, Sociology and Psychology, St. Thomas University
