Biography
Ehsan Masood is a writer and editor, based in London. The focus of his work includes science, environment, international development and the politics of the Muslim world. He writes for the journal Nature, a monthly column for the online magazine OpenDemocracy.Net, and also for Prospect magazine.
His books include Dry: Life Without Water (with Daniel Schaffer, Harvard University Press 2006); How Do You Know: Reading Ziauddin Sardar on Islam, Science and Cultural Relations (Pluto Press 2006) and Who Decides: the Politics of Decisions on GM Crops in the Developing World (Panos London 2004).
He is an advisor and consultant to a number of international organizations including: the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, the British Council, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Ehsan studied physics at Portsmouth Polytechnic and science communication at Birkbeck College, University of London. He is a former Opinion Editor of New Scientist and was LEAD's Director of Communications between 2001 and 2003.
