Biography

Mehriban NASIBOVA is from the mountainous Gabala district of Azerbaijan. It is far away from the capital of Azerbaijan about 210 km. She graduated from school despite humble and entered the Khazar University, and studied there for five years before graduating with an Honor Diploma.
Gabala district has difficulty retaining a population of young people because of a lack of jobs and entertainment, so graduates studying in the cities rarely return. However, when Mehriban graduated from the university she chose to return to Gabala. She worked in UNDP Project named by Regional NGOs Resource and Training Center as an Office Manager. After one year in 2002 she had created a new NGO named by “Gabala Healthy Environment” (GHE) and began to work with Swiss NGOs. She worked about four years with this Swiss organization. She participated in two trainings in Romania, organized by SAB, (Have Certificate) in the “Round Table” of women of mountainous countries in Switzerland, organized by Swiss Government and in the training (Training of Trainers) in Germany, organized by InWent (Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung gGmbH) Capacity Building International, Germany and DSE/ZEL (German Foundation for International Development) and (Centre for Food, Rural Development and the Environment).
She is the Executive Director of GHE NGO. She is responsible for management of NGO, for budget, for staff etc. They provide trainings, seminars, workshops, meetings, conferences and so on. They implement small infrastructure rehabilitation projects and IGP. GHE gave some to job to young people.
