Biography

Francesca GANDERTON is a policy adviser in the European and International Sustainable Development division of the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra – www.defra.gov.uk ), a UK government organisation. Her work involves promoting sustainable trade and investment at the WTO negotiations on trade liberalisation, trade and environment capacity building, involvement in strands of trade and environment work at the OECD and working with the UK Export Credit Agency to improve/negate the environmental impacts of overseas investments.
Prior to taking up this role, Francesca has worked in other UK government departments, most recently, UK Trade and Investment, where she focused on advising British companies about their exports and overseas investments in Central European markets.
Francesca has an Honours degree in International Business, which she completed at the University of Central Lancashire. She is also undertaking a Literature degree through the Open University.
