Biography

Katie DICK is currently a policy adviser at the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. She works on the UK’s newly established Sustainable Development Dialogues with China and Brazil (see http://www.sustainable-development.gov.uk/international/dialogues/index.htm). These are part of an initiative to encourage partnership working between the UK and the emerging economies on SD issues. Other countries with which Defra engages in this way are India, Mexico and South Africa.
Before working for Defra, Katie worked for another Government Department, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and for King’s College London, in both instances drawing on her background in human nutrition.
Katie has a degree in Biochemistry and a Masters In Human Nutrition. She has been interested in SD for many years and is now pleased to be working in the area.
