Biography
Mitulo SILENGO is the Academic Director for LEAD-Southern Africa. He is also LEAD Fellow of Cohort 9. Prior to this appointment he was a Senior Lecturer and served as Dean of the School of Built Environment of the Copperbelt University in Kitwe, Zambia. He taught Environmental Economics and Management, Natural Resource Management and Economics of Rural Development. Before joining the university, he worked briefly as a Planning Assistant in the Department of Town and Country Planning in Lusaka. Dr. Silengo graduated from the University of Zambia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education (Physical Geography). He later obtained a Masters degree in Environmental Planning from the University of Nottingham and a doctorate from Salford University in England in the field of Environmental Resources, working on his thesis 'An Integrated Framework for Environmental Management and Protection in Zambia'. He has recently completed The 5th International Workshop on 'Improving Training Quality (ITQ-5) through Interactive Learning Technologies and Distance Mentoring' offered as part of institution and staff capacity building efforts, a learning opportunity for senior trainers to study and work together, through real and virtual group interactions, to improve mastery of innovative training design, curriculum development and learning methods applications.He is a member in good standing of the International Association of Impact Assessment and International Geographical Union.
