LEAD Pakistan's Cohort 16 training programme has focussed on the Green Economy. The aim of this programme is to initiate...
LEAD works with a number of partners to strengthen the leadership development that they are already carrying out in their organisations by incorporating sustainability through a real life challenge.
In recent years LEAD has worked with several businesses including HSBC and Standard Chartered, both leading global banks. Both banks take sustainability very seriously and in collaboration with LEAD, have developed training programmes for current and future leaders within the bank that are designed to enhance their leadership skills and their understanding of why sustainability should be an essential component in decision-making in business.
The training programmes involve teams of future leaders spending time with a LEAD Fellow working on a real life sustainability challenge. Challenges chosen are ones where the skills of the banker can make a genuine contribution to the community concerned and that will enhance their understanding of what sustainability is all about. These programmes have been run in Brazil, Mexico, India and Indonesia since 2007.

“The LEAD experience is part of the bank's commitment to developing talent. Every delegate here has been ‘rethinking leadership’ which provides a common language for undergoing a shared experience in terms of leadership, personal development, understanding sustainability issues and appreciating diversity.”
