Biography

Maria Zulmira de Souza is a specialist in environmental media and she acts at TV Cultura - a Brazilian Public TV based in São Paulo. She is coordinating a weekly project at TV Cultura on Biodiversity Issues. She is also working as a consultant for Media's strategy Projects.

She was the Editorial Coordinator of Micro Macro - the first Latin American and Caribbean Series on Sustanaible Development, a partnership between TVE and TV Cultura.

Her previous fellowships and experiencies include: a 1998 study course for journalists in Sweden sponsored by the Institute for the Further Education of Journalists; and a Ford Foundation fellowship in 1993 at Duke University in North Carolina. Ms. de Souza was elected (1996-1998)to serve as the representative of TV Cultura's staff and employees on a Council of civil society groups on TV Cultura�s principal manager, Foundation Padre Anchieta.
