LINI organizes the first Indonesian Marine Ornamental Symposium

On 4 November 2008, The Indonesian Minister for Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Mr. Freddy Numberi opened the first Indonesian Marine Ornamental Symposium. The one-day event was organized by LINI. It was well attended by 92 participants, and supported with five oral presentations and nine posters. Presentations included a talk on packing techniques using an ‘Ecological’ Approach through Behaviour, and one about the efforts of collectors’ groups in a number of places in Indonesia, who are implementing best practices to maintain the..... Aug 22, 2008In August 2008, LINI staff accompanied two foreign volunteers, Kristian Gregory and Duncan Brown on a visit to collectors’ villages in north Bali. They visited two schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Celukan Bawang and Public Elementary School No 3 of Sangga Langit) and installed a new computer and printer in each school, and provided some school books for the libraries which currently have very few books.
