Self-awareness is also about trying to understand and respecting the needs and values of the people around you. Self-awareness is not a “soft skill”. It is a lifelong process. Knowing who you are, and how you come across to other people will help to communicate your vision and to inspire and engage other people.
“This above all: to thine own self be true”
Hamlet Act 1, scene 3, 78–82 William Shakespeare, English Poet and Playwright (1564 – 1616)
Although we recognise that self-awareness involves a very personal development path, LEAD promotes self-awareness through introspective exercises, peer-to-peer learning and feedback and mentoring.
