Mr. Sunoto is a chair, Bureau of Administration & Public Relation in Environmental Impact Management (Bapedal). He received a Bachelor (Honors) on Communication in Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta (1980), Master of Environmental Studies-York University Canada (1989) and Doctor of Philosophy on Sociology-York University Canada (1994). He is a member of National Research Committee.

He presented several speeches on environment, bussiness, management and public relations in many company, university and government level. He has been a moderator too on environmental technology, environmental law, conflict resolution in various department and company.

Along 1999 Dr. Sunoto is doing the research on Economic Crisis & Natural Resources Management, Hagler Bailly Indonesia-USA Coastal & Marine Resources.

As a member of Board LEAD Indonesia, sometimes he gives lecturer for new LEAD Associates.
