Abid Ullah Jan is the Chief Executive of Integrated Regional Development Programme (IRDP) since December 2002.
He also worked as Executive Director of Integrated Regional Support Programme (IRSP) Pakistan from November 2000 to December 2002. He is responsible for the overall management of IRDP. He directly reports to the board of directors with regard to developing and executing different policies and relationships across sectors and organizations. Mr. Jan is actively involved in developing and implementing projects such as health and sanitation, community information system, environmental management through community participation and capacity building for the communities for harnessing their potential to help them. Before joining IRSP, Abid Ullah Jaan worked with Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) in the field of human resource development as Chief HRD. In addition, Mr Jan initiated a programme with IUCN that become the basis for greening of programme packages in all Rural Support Programmes. Mr Jan's background in environmental management enabled him to work closely with IUCN to develop a guide. The purpose of which was to get communities practically involved in the environmental planning process and enable the NGOs to tangibly assist them in their endeavors on the other. He has also worked on a social organization package of field workers to help them learn techniques to get communities involved in addressing their environmental issues. A chapter on this is included in the first handbook that Mr Jan developed for the social organizers. Mr Jan has an educational background in environmental management. |

Abimola Abibat JIJOHO-OGUN is the Chief Scientific Officer of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and is personal assistant to the general manager/chief executive officer there. She has delivered several papers on environment and development in Nigeria. Her interests include biodiversity conservation, pollution control and management, environmental impact and audit analysis, waste management and sustainable development. Formerly a high school principal, A.A. Jijoho-Ogun received her master's degree in zoology from the University of Ibadan and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Lagos. She is now the Secretary, Nigerian Environmental Society, Lagos Chapter.

Abiodun Olusola SALAMI is a lecturer in Botani and Microbiology, University of Ibadan. She is involved in research on application of the newly emerging biotechnologies, especially, how mycorrhizal biotechnology can be used as alternative to chemical fertilizer.
Before joining the University, she taught at the Secondary School level in Oyo and Osun State of Nigeria between 1992 and 1997. She has special interest in contributing in the area of increasing and sustaining the productivity of land as well as improving its use, which is of relevance to LEAD in sustainable development. A. Abiodun SHONUBI is academic director for LEAD Nigeria. A pioneer staff, he came to LEAD with several years working experience in both public and private sectors, including institutions of higher learning, manufacturing and marketing industries.
Before joining FEDEN, where LEAD-Nigeria is based, he was the Managing Director of Loomash Incorporated, a Marketing Consulting and Commodity brokerage firm. Prior to that he was the pioneer Marketing and Sales Manager at Yankari Natural Spring Water Ltd., a company that bottles and markets natural spring water. He also worked for a multinational - Nestle Foods (Nig.) Plc.(then known Food Specialities Nigeria Ltd.), as the Planning Officer in the Logistics Division. He also had a 5-year stint in academics at University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) and Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, and at the latter served as the Acting Head of the Department of Business Administration. His areas of interest in environment and development include corporate environmentalism; environmental marketing, eco-investing; eco-financing; international trade; corporate and social responsibility; Team-Building; and networking among non-governmental organizations. Adebayo OKUWOBI is the Deputy General Manager Life Operations at Leadway Assurance Company. Mr. Okuwobi had a short spell at teaching at Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta between 1983 and 1984 where he taught Mathematics and Business Statistics before joining the services of Great Nigeria Insurance Company in 1985. While at GNI, he influenced the Computerization of the Company after obtaining a Diploma in Computer Studies from the University of Lagos and eventually became the pioneer head of Actuarial Services Department in 1988. Adebayo later moved on to AIICO Insurance Plc, an affiliate of ALICO (American Life Insurance Company) in 1992 and was elevated to the status of the head of Life Operations in 1995.
A trainer of trainers, Mr. Okuwobi at various times was part of several Faculties promoting knowledge sharing, skills and competency building, youth empowerment and moral development. As a community Leader, he has engaged in social development programmes in support of the poor, socially disadvantaged groups and collaborated with others in fighting moral decadence and social exclusion. He is currently working on a pet project which aims at transforming the Nigerian Police Force given the key role that community needs to play in the nation's search for Good Governance, Peace, Social Stability, Economic Development, Equity and Justice. Adebayo is an actuarial science graduate from the University of Lagos and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute, Atlanta Georgia, U.S.A. Management Company Limited, the Maintenance & Management Company for Victoria Garden City, a highbrow mixed land use Estate owned by HFP Engineering (Nig.) Limited in the Lekki-Peninsula area of Lagos State. He is in charge of administration, maintenance and management and ensures the efficient provision of services to the residents of the City. He has responsibility for the enforcement of the City land use regulations. Adebowale is a member of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Nigeria Chapter with affiliation to IFMA Houston Texas USA. The City is the first of its kind is West Africa and Onabanjo is responsible for the generation of income in excess of N100Million naira yearly which is utilized for the provision of services to the discerning residents and other investors at VGC. Adebowale is a microbiologist by training with M.Sc. from the University of Lagos. Prior to joining the services of the company in February 2003,Adebowale worked for 11 years at Agbara Estates, the pioneer private Estate development in Africa where he was involved in diverse environmental and development planning matters through interactions with the factories on the estate and government agencies. Adefunke T. ADEKUNLE, a plant pathologist, is an Associate Professor and Head of Department of Crop Science, at the University of Benin. She lectures about crop protection and plant pathology, supervises final-year projects as well as post graduate thesis on disease epidemiology, biological control, as well as the use of plant extracts as control for diseases on food crops. She also teaches seed pathology at the postgraduate level and is involved in the administrative work of the Faculty of Agriculture including coordination of field practical training of undergraduate students as well as being the coordinator of the postgraduate program in the department of crop science
A.T. Adekunle was a research fellow with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, between (1993-1998) where she carried out research for her Ph.D. thesis. She obtained her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the department of crop protection and environmental biology at the Univeristy of Ibadan. Other training that she has includes training in Research Management, Statistical Analysis Software and Proposal Writing. Adeline Dumoulin is part of the Lead International Team, Climate Change Department. She is working in the DFID CSCF Project in Africa, giving support knowledge and information management and in the ECI-LEAD Learning Exchange project.
In part time in LEAD, she is currently representing the Latin American Wind Energy Association in Europe, a non-profit organisation with the headquarter in Guadalajara - Mexico, which promotes the use of wind energy in Latin America countries through education, popularization, advocacy and networking initiatives. After working few months in Guadalajara, she is now representing LAWEA in the UE and commissioning to seek sponsors for financing LAWEA’s exhibitions and workshops; researching international members; developing relationships with institutions, media, universities and partners. She was also a volunteer in RedR UK, an organization which relieve suffering caused by disasters, by selecting training and providing and committed personal to humanitarian programmes worldwide. Adeline is a graduate student at the Institute for the Higher Latin American Studies, University of La Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, with a Master degree in International Development and Co-operation. Mr. Omojola earned his master's and bachelor's degrees in geography at the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan, respectively. He also received a diploma in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Ontario, Canada. He is a lecturer in geography and planning at the University of Lagos and a member of the Nigerian Geographical Society and the American Society for Photo geometry and Remote Sensing. Over a dozen of his written works have been published, including 'Environmental Degradation Assessment in the Sokoto-Rima River Basin Using Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques' in June 1993 and 'Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques for Landuse and Land cover Mapping Change Detection in a Nigerian Semi-Arid Environment' in 1992. Mr. Omojola would like to apply the techniques of remote sensing and GIS to the assessment and dissemination of environmental information in order to improve the quality of life on a global scale.

She is a certified trained installer of Pastel Accounting Software, Accpac Simply Accounting Software and a host of others. Professor Osuntogun holds a BSc Degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Leeds in the UK. Professor Osuntogun is a specialist in Environmental Economics and Environmental Policy Analysis. He has served as a Researcher for the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), London, on Institutional Determinants and Constraints on Agricultural Development. He has also consulted for the World Bank on Applied Poverty-Environment Indicators, as well as for the DFID on Promoting Environmental Sustainability in Development in West Africa. Professor Osuntogun has also consulted for FAO, ILO, IUCN, ECA, AND UNDP. He served as a Consultant Environmental Economist and Evaluator of the African Economic Research Consultium (AERC) Collaborative Master of Arts Programme. Professor Osuntogun has published in the British Journal of Agricultural Economics, Oxford Agrarian Studies, Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Agricultural Administration, Journal of Developing Areas, African Journal of Agricultural Sciences, and the West African Journal of Agricultural Economics, among other outlets. Professor Osuntogun retired as Programme Director of LEAD Anglophone West Africa at the end of 2009. He is an Honorary LEAD Fellow. |

Adeola Omotunde is an indigene of Ibadan in Oyo State,Nigeria. She worked briefly as aprogramme officer with a youth NGO based in Yaba, Lagos, with focus on youth empowerment, habitat and education of female children.
She is presently a chief environmental scientist in the pollution control and Environmental health department of the Federal Ministry of Environment. She started her career within the federal civil service as an environmental scientist at the federal environmental protection Agency (FEPA) in 1997. She was at the National reference laboratory of the agency for two years before she was posted to the industrial compliance and hazardous chemical management division of the ministry. The agency later became the federal Ministry of Environment in 1999. She has a total of thirteen years working experience in environmental management. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Ibadan in 1992, a Masters of Science degree in microbiology from the same university in 1996 with specialization in environmental microbiology. She has been involved in promoting and ensuring compliance of manufacturing industries to environmental laws and management of hazardous chemical from cradle to grave. She has also been part of the national implementation of the phase out of ozone depleting substances in Nigeria. She has facilitated and participated in several workshops and seminars on environmental issues. She is good at public speaking and anchoring programmes and events. She is a member of Nigerian Emvironmental society(NES) and a chartered member of the waste management society of Nigeria(WAMASON). She is interested in the use of renewable energy especially from waste and biomass. |
