Andrei ISAC is currently a consultant of the UNDP Project on the Development of the National Environmental Strategy of the Republic of Moldova for 2012-2022, implemented by the Ministry of Environment of Moldova. He is involved in the elaboration of the National Development Strategy of Moldova (2012-2020) and preparation of the MOP 4 of the Aarhus Convention (2011, Chisinau). In the period of June 2005 - February 2010 he was working as Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre Moldova (REC Moldova), an independent, non-profit and non-political environmental organisation of international dimension. The mission of the REC Moldova is to assist in solving environmental problems in Moldova and in the region through the promotion of co-operation at both national and regional levels among NGOs, governments, business, local communities and other environmental stakeholders.
He was Project Manager of the WB/GEF Project 'Enabling Activities Related to the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants in the Republic of Moldova' in the period of July 2002 - November 2004 with the main goal of preparation of the National Implementation Plan of the Convention and preparation of its ratification. Before joining the WB project he was Head of the Environmental Policy Division in the Ministry of Environment, Construction and Territorial Development of the Republic of Moldova since 1998 (in the Department for Environemntal Protection since 1993). His work focuses on the development of environmental policy, co-ordination of the National Strategies, Programs and Action Plans in the field of environment. This work is aimed at the promotion of political and economical mecanisms for environmental protection, integration of the environmental requirements in national social-economic activities, financial strategies and ecological funds. He has expirienced in the drafring of environmental laws, development of action plans and environmental funds management. Since 1999 - member of the European Environment and Health Committee. Andrei Isac was responcible for the elaboration of the Concept of Environmental Policy of the Republic of Moldova (2000-2001), was the author of one chapter in the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Republic of Moldova (Moldova 21)(2000), participates in the development of the Sectoral Strategy on Environment and Poverty and on the preparation of the Chapter on Environmental Protection and Use of natural resources in the Natiional Strategy for Economic Grouth and Poverty Eradication of the Republic of Moldova (2003). He take part in the development of the documents for the Environmental Partnerships in the ENECE Region and Environment Strategy for EECCA Countries for the Kiev Ministerial Conference, 2003. Mr.Isac was the Secretary of the National Preparatory Committee of the Republic of Moldova for the Global Summit on Sustainable Development 'Rio+10', Johannesburg, 2002 and member of the official delegation of the country to the Summit. Past responcibilities include: co-ordinator of the Environmental Performance Review of the Republic of Moldova (UN ECE, 1997-1998), co-ordinator of the implementation of the National Environmental Action Plan of the Republic of Moldova (WB, OECD, 1996-2000), member of the WGSO and of the Official Delegation at the 4th Pan-European Conference of the Environment Ministers in Aarhus, Denmark. Since 1999 A.Isac has been a member of the European Environment and Health Committee (EEHC)(UN ECE/ WHO Euro), a OECD EAP Task Force member and member of the country's delegation to the UN CSD in New-York. In 2000 he became the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the Committee on Environmental Policy of the UN ECE in Geneva. Andrei Isac is a graduate of the Russian (Moscow) Chemical-Technological University named after D. Mendeleev (1993) with the speciality in environmental protection. His personal interest is in the assesment of the influence of the cultural and religious values on environment and sustainable development. Andrei LALETIN is Chairman of NGO 'Friends of the Siberian Forests'. He gave lectures on forestry and soil science at the Siberian Technological University, and on botany and ecology - at Krasnoyarsk State University. He is the author of more than 60 articles and reports on various issues of botany, ecology, and forestry. In 1981-1997 he worked as a researcher in V.N. Sukhachev Forest Institute of Siberian Branch of the USSR (now Russian) Academy of Science. In 1997 he worked as a forestry consultant for the World Bank. In 1998-1999 he worked as a coordinator of Russian Forest Program in IUCN-The World Conservation Union.
He graduated from Krasnoyarks State University in 1981 and in 1987 he received Ph.D. in forest ecology from the V.N. Sukachev Forest Institute in Krasnoyarsk. Since 2002 he coordinates NGOs in the CIS region for the Global Forest Coalition. Since February 2003 he coordinates environmental NGOs in major groups council of the UN Forum on Forests. |

Andrei Vadimovich Bakhvalov (Andrew) studied engineering from the Moscow High Technical School (Bauman) and has received training in economics and international trade from the All-Union Academy for Foreign Trade in Moscow. With extensive computer Experience, Dr. Bakhvalov previously was employed as a computer center manager at the automotive plant, Moskvitch. Prior to that, he was a computer engineer in the automatic systems laboratory at the Moscow High Technical School. Andres Latapí Escalante is the Executive Coordinator of the Program for Sustainable Development, Agenda 21-Mexico. He is a former Coordinator of the Pprogram of Applied Anthropology in the Research Institute of Anthropology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is a former second secretary of environmental affairs with the Mexican
government at the Office of Representation of the Social Development Ministry in Washington, D.C., in the United States. He has also served as an anthropological researcher for the regional development and environment department of the Organization of American States..He has work as Technical Analysis at the Comision of Biodiversity, and in the Social Sciences Department at the Colegio Mexiguerse, A.C. He received a master's degree in Anthropology from the Universidad Iberoamericana. As a LEAD Associate, Mr. Latapf intends to increase his knowledge and experience in the management of environmental problems through applied social science. |

Andres FALCONER joined LEAD as National Program Director in Brazil, and Executive Coordinator of ABDL (Brazilian Association of Leadership Development - LEAD Brazil's host) in March 2001. Among his previous engagements, Andres was Program Manager at IDIS (Institute for the Development of Social Investment), providing technical support to Brazilian corporations and corporate foundations in their social development initiatives, and Coordinator of the Center for Third Sector Management Studies at the University of São Paulo. He has been actively involved in the study of the NGO or civil society sector. He currently teaches courses on leadership, civil society, and non-profit management in Masters level and certificate programs in the University of São Paulo.
He holds a masters degree in management from the University of São Paulo, and was a fellow at the Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies. |

Andrew Olegovich Minenkov, general director of the Foreign Economical Association at Souzsporttechnica in Moscow, was also deputy director of the computer center at the Sport Army Club. Educated at the Moscow Institute of Radio-electronics and Automatics, Dr. Minenkov received his degrees in radio engineering. He competed in the 1976 and 1980 Winter Olympics figure skating competition and was World Champion in 1975 and 1977. As a LEAD Associate, Dr. Minenkov will address matters that pertain to business administration and industry.

He is the founding secretary of the UK Association of the European Business Ethics Network and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Andrei Ivaschenko is education program coordinator and IT expert of ECO-Accord Centre. He is responsible for the development of “Green Pack†(project of Regional Ecology Centre for Central and Eastern Europe and ECO-Accord) in Moscow Region. In 2000-2007 Mr. Ivaschenko supported European ECO-Forum information centre and was responsible for ECO-Forum web-site and electronic newsletters as well as maintained ECO-Forum data base. He is also engaged in research in the fields of global climate change with focus on ecology of Arctic and Antarctic region. This research is conducted by Moscow State University and Russian Academy of Science with annual summer season expeditions in these regions. He has a number of publications in scientific magazines in Russian and English on ecology, e.g. carbon flux, ecosystems dynamics, etc. Mr. Ivaschenko interests are related to sustainable development, education for sustainable development, problems of human and wildlife adaptation and survival in conditions of climate change.

Andrey Panin graduated from the Faculty of Geography, Moscow State Lomonosov University (MSU) in 1988. PhD (Geography) from MSU (1991). Now occupies the position of associate professor and vice-dean at the Faculty of Geography, MSU. Specializes in theoretical and environmental aspects of fluvial geomorphology and palaeogeography. Authored and co-authored some 60 articles in Russian and international issues on river channel development and river palaeohydrology in the Late Glacial and the Holocene, global man-induced changes of solid fluxes, century-scale stream network dynamics in response to climate and land use changes, Cs-137 migration via soil erosion, namely over the areas of Chernobyl contamination, etc. Co-author in two monographs on river processes. Takes lectures in geomorphology for students in geography and soil science. As a vice-dean of the faculty accounts for managing student field practice.

Andrei SOUKNEV is director of the Centre for Regional Tourism Support in Buryatia, Russia, where he is responsible for ecotourism development. He previously directed the project 'Ecotourism-advices, motivations and principles of business' (ESD USAID) and served as the director of LAT, an ecotourism firm. He has a teaching degree from De. Banzarov's Buryat State Pedagogic Institute.
Graduate 'President Program' 2000, and received degree of Marketing Manager. He has several grants from USAID in field of ecotourism. 'B&B&B (Bed & Breakfast & Baikal - development of network of private hotels' 1997-98, 'LAC (Limits of Acceptable Changes) - on the way to sustaynability on Baikal' 1998-99, 'B&B for Eastern Siberia' 2001-2002, and 'Ecotourism Association, Enterprise and Promotion Strengthening' 2002-2003. In 1989, a group of Moscow students led by Mr. Ozharovskii founded a youth organization called The International Discussion Club (IDC) of Moscow. The club promotes international activity among Moscow students by establishing and developing direct contact between young people of Russia and other countries. Their aim was to take an active role in destroying the 'Iron Curtain'. At the time, it was the first international youth organization independent of Communist powers. Since 1990, the IDC has organized several exchange programs with courses in language and culture, and has specialized in youth seminars.
After graduating from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, Mr. Ozharovskii became Coordinator of IDC's environmental program. He organized the international seminar 'Introduction to the Green Movement of Russia', supported by a democratically elected Moscow City Council, which offered western ecologists their first opportunity to visit a nuclear reactor located in a private institute in Moscow. Presently, Mr. Ozharovskii is President of the IDC. At the Russian Federal Elections of 1993, 1995, 1999, 2000 he organized foreign observation programs, and plans to do the same in the elections in future. Andrey invites all the members of LEAD family to come to Russia to join IDC's study trips and election observation in Russia. Andy Ahmad Zaelany is a researcher at the Centre for Population (Human Ecology division), Indonesian Institute of Sciences in Jakarta (LIPI), Indonesia, since 1991. At this moment his position is a senior researcher of COREMAP (Coral Reef Rehabilitation and Management Program) in Indonesia. He's included in coordinating team for whole research in Jakarta, Bogor, Puncak and Cianjur (Jabopuncur) doing by LIPI for five years.
He received Bachelor degree in anthropology from Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia and Master degree in Ethnology and Rural Development from Georg-August University, Goettingen, Germany. His magister Thesis title is : 'Becoming the fish-bomb fisherman as an Adaptation Strategy in Economy Crisis : Case Study of Pulau Karang, Indonesia'. Now he is studying for doctoral at Bogor Institute of Agricultute (IPB) in Planning and Developing for Fisheries and Oceanografi. Formerly, he worked as a researcher at the Group for Agroecosystem Research (KEPAS) and as journalist for the Suara Merdeka Daily. Mr.Zaelany is interested in sustainable development, maritime issues and migration. As a LEAD Fellow, he hopes to expand his overall knowledge of population, environment and development. |

Andy Safalaoh is a Senior Lecturer in Monogastric Nutrition and Poultry Production with the University of Malawi based at Bunda College of Agriculture. Andy obtained a BSc. in Agriculture with Credit from the University of Malawi, Bunda College of Agriculture in 1985. Upon graduation, Andy worked with Save the Children Federation Inc./USA (SCF) in different capacities as Training Development Coordinator, Food Production Coordinator and Impact Area Programme Manager until 1989.
Andy has also attended several short courses and workshops including Training of Community Workers, Community Based Integrated Rural Development, Project Planning and Evaluation, Hog Production, Ecological and Sustainable Agriculture for smallholder farmers in Southern Africa and Baseline Survey Study Techniques. In 1989, Andy left SCF and joined the University of Malawi. In 1991, he went for further studies at Oklahoma State University in America where he obtained a Master of Science Degree in Animal Science in 1994. Andy is also involved in provision of consultancy services in project management and evaluation with main emphasis in livestock/poultry development projects and food security. He has so far provided services to organisations such as GTZ, FAO, DANIDA, World Vision International, OXFAM, UNDP and World Bank funded projects. Hislatest involvement has been evaluation of the Malawi National Adult Literacy Programme in relation to the Malawi Reduction Strategy Paper. He is also a member of the Task Force of the development of the Malawi Research and Outreach Programme (MAROP) document/proposal to be funded by NORAD. Andy is also currently the Chairman of the Research and Publications Committee at Bunda College and is the Editor In-Chief of Bunda Journal of Agriculture, Environmental Science and Technology. His current keen interest is sustainable agriculture and rural developmemt with emphasis on the role of livestock in food security and natural resource management. In this regard, Andy is currently a co-researcher involved in a study on 'Analysis of Gender roles in livestock production in smallholder crop/livestocksystems in Malawi' funded by IFPRI. |

Aneshimode Leslie ADOGAME is the first Executive Secretary in charge of the management and administration of the Nigerian Environmental Society(NES), a leading professional, non-profit, environmental NGO. Prior to this position, he was served as a Research Associate with Prof.M.K.C. Sridhar of the Environmental Health department,University College Hospital, University of Ibadan and at another time a Quality Control/Production Officer to the West African Distillers Limited(WADL), Lagos. He has also served as a Consultant to a number of firms in Nigeria concerned with environment and health matters.
Adogame has published four (4) technical papers and also written extensively in professional journals as well as leading educational materials, newspapers in Nigeria and USA. He has done detail research work on the study of Lead and other heavy metals in the indoors and outdoors environment in Nigeria. An interest which led to his pioneering of a 'Lead Study Group' based at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He is presently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Public Health with research into 'Assessment and quantification of Petroleum Products emmissions and their associated environmental health impacts on humans in Lagos, Nigeria'. He has acquired wide experience in volunteerism while coordinating a national youth empowerment programme on Environmental Protection and Awareness Clubs(EPACs) in schools. A.L. Since 1997, Zhao has worked in three different sectors: media, business and NGO.
As a broadcasting journalist in China National Radio in 1997 - 2001, he covered national and international defense affairs. From 2002 to 2003, Zhao provided project development consulting for China Central Television. In 2004, Zhao joined the Green Earth, a leading environmental NGO in Beijing. He initiated a training programme on public participation in large hydropower projects and coordinated a national campaign against dams construction along Nu-Salween River. In 2006, Zhao began to work with Greenpeace (China) Climate and Energy Project as a campaigner. He focused on energy issues, like the external cost of coal use in China and the sustainable energy scenario of China. Zhao has interests in environmental policy, specifically on energy, and public participation in the decision making of large hydropower projects. Zhao led a case study on China's public participation in the Nu river hydropower development with other four fellows of LEAD-China cohort-11. Zhao married Ms Qiao liming, who is a LEAD-China fellow, too. The couple live in Brussels now. Zhao holds a B.A. in Chinese Linguistics(1993-1997) from Peking University and a M.Sc. in Environmental Policy and Regulation (2007-2008) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He likes playing badminton, watching movies and reading books. |

Ani MARDIASTUTI lectures on conservation topics at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture, Indonesia. She also continues to pursue her interest in forestry management and new concepts that view forests as entire ecosystems rather than merely a collection of trees. Through the University's extention program, she hopes to develop a system of environmental education and environmental action programs for school children.
She has a Ph.D. in wildlife ecology and management, as well as a degree in forest management. She specialized in conservation of the swiftlet and the hornbill, two bird species. On September 2004 until now she join KEHATI Foundation as senior Policy Advisor. |

Anil K. Agnihotri presently working as Deputy General Manager Corporate Safety Health & Environment in Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited, New Delhi, in India. Presntly he is looking after the corporate environment of ONGC. Prior to this assignment he worked as Chief Chemist at Corporate Health , Safety & Environment in Mumbai division in the field of microbial enhancement of oil recovery. He received Ph.D from Lucknow University in 1979. He has authored various papers and a book on environmental management in the petroleum industry and is particularly interested in biotechnology, wastewater treatment, and landfill gas. Dr. Agnihotri enjoys reading and presenting lectures on the subject of environmental issues.He has extensively worked on energy recovery from municipal solid wastes inthe U.P. province of India.He has been instrumental in development of various policy documents for the enactment of waste to energy projects in the state of Uttar Pradesh & commissioning of first municpal solid waste (MSW) to energy plant in the city of Lucknow(5 MW out of 300MT of MSW).

After graduating from Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 1995 and choose to work in the North Eastern part of India. He began his career with a small NGO called Nagaland Gandhi Ashram in a small village in Nagaland after a year he joined a world Bank aided Project in tripura, later took up an important assignment with the North East Region Community Resource Management Project (NERCRMP) of the Government of India and International Fund for Agricultural Development. During his professional commitment to this project spread across three states in the Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hot-spot of the northeastern region of India, He took up the leadership of contributing particularly in the natural resources management, community mobilization, coordination and networking, design and development of programs, and process of capacity development in collaboration with state governments, district administrations and councils and a number of successful NGOs and CBOs in the region. He has been instrumental in promoting SHGs and women thrif groups in the project areas.
On completion of this assignment at the NERCRMP, went on higher to work with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) through which he continue to contribute productively and positively both in training, concept development and project implementation in the areas of environment and development, not only in the northeastern region of India but across the Hindu-Kush Himalaya region. In his present job have had the opportunity to travel extensive in the Hindu Kush Himalayan countries and have experience in looking activities in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Myanmar. Mr. Anil is curently working for the United Nations development Programme in Afghanistan in the capacity of Regional Governance Advisor. Mr. Anil have strong experience in Planning and implementation strategies, monitoring and evaluation of the current development initiatives in the HKH region. Initiating policy dialogues and participating as key trainer on various community Mobilization and Institutional programmes. Identifying project issues to be addressed through technical and institutional support; Planning and designing proposals for implementation support to projects; Designing a monitoring system (logframes, trigger indicators, proposed outputs and outcomes); Establishing and continuing linkages with an array of partners, i.e. project staff, government officials, policy makers, NGOs and private sector; Ensuring follow up and frequent communication with partners; Quality control of ongoing work in 5 countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Pakistan); Writing documents (Annual Work Plan and Budget, Memorandum of Understandings, Terms of References, Progress reports, Supervision submissions); Making budgets and regular monitoring; Creating networks with and between partners; and Liasing with ICIMOD professionals. He consider himself as a promise of future career of leadership in these areas bringing in notable impact among the people of the region. Anil Prabhakar TAMBAY has 24 years of management experience and is currently International Charity, Marie Stopes International's Country Director in Dhaka, Bangladesh since July 2009. Earlier, he was for 2 years, Oxfam GB's Regional Programme Development & Support Manager for East Asia, based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Before that, he was Country Director for Oxfam GB in Bangladesh for 3 years. Prior to this, he worked for 12 years at BAIF Development Research Foundation, Pune, a leading NGO in India; where he was Vice President at the time of leaving. Anil is very focused on Rural Poverty Alleviation and related developmental issues since the last 17 years. He began his career with 3 years as a field engineer on off-shore oil rigs in the North Sea offshore the UK. He then worked with the Tata Administrative Service in India for three years before deciding that it would be more fulfilling to work in the field of rural and community development. During his graduate studies, he had been associated with a voluntary organisation working with Adivasis (tribals) in Thane district near Mumbai. Anil has a master's degree in business management (MBA) from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.

Anil Sethi studied Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering at Somerset College of Arts and Technology in the U.K. A Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, he specialises in computer networking and has worked in Information Technology for close to a decade. He also holds a masters degree in Sociology.

Dr. Anish Andheria is the Director of the 'Wildlife Conservation Trust', a non-profit organization set up to preserve, protect and conserve wildlife and fight climate change. He is also the Director of Sanctuary Asia and has been awarded the prestigious Carl Zeiss Conservation Award 2008.
He helped set up Kids for Tigers, a nation-wide conservation education programme which currently reaches out to over one million school children every year. After completing his Ph.D. from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, he went on to pursue a Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from the National Center for Biological Sciences, Bangalore. He is a large carnivore specialist with field knowledge on predator-prey relationships. A wildlife photographer of repute, he has photographed some of the most remote wildlife reserves of India. He has also co-authored two books on Indian wildlife. He runs a wildlife rescue center in Mumbai for over two decades and is a Trustee of 'The Climate Project, India'. A natural communicator, he is one of India's leading motivational speakers, and has introduced thousands of young persons to the joys of nature and the rationale for nature conservation. |
