Amrullah AMRULLAH
AMRULLAH was the National Programme Manager of Maluku and North Maluku Humanitarian Aid Project for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) originating from Maluku and North Maluku Provinces, which is under cooperation of Community Recovery Foundation and United Nations Development Programme. His responsibility was include coordinating of 7 regional offices which are facilitating 51 Humanitarian Posts managed by the IDPs (mixed two conflicting parties moslem and christian community). His aim for the future is to extend his experience to several links and networks of international NGOs.

He studied Business Administration and Management for master's degree at Institute of Management Newport International. He is also active in Community Recovery Program to dedicate his professional work voluntarily for capacity building on advocacy and sustainable development.

Ana BARREIRA LOPEZ
Born in 1967 in Madrid (Spain), she is a lawyer and a founding member of a Spanish non-profit organization, the Instituto Internacional de Derecho y Medio Ambiente (International Institute for Law and the Environment). She has worked in the environmental department of the solicitors firm Allen & Overy in London, was part of the drafting team of the 1995 Spanish Environmental Framework Bill and has provided legal advice to the Spanish Ministry of Environment from September 2001 to June 2000 for the EU Spanish Presidency, mainly for the preparatory process of the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD).

A. Barreira teaches environmental law and policy in several centres in Spain. She has made presentations in numerous international and national conferences and seminars and has published several articles on diverse environmental law topics, particularly on water issues. She has attended the following international conferences: VI UN Commission on Sustainable Development, R�o +5 (1997), COP-5 UN Climate Change Convention (Bonn,1999), Workshop on article 8 (j) of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (Madrid, 1997), the Geneva Social Summit (2000), Asia Europe Meeting(ASEM)- Environment (Beijing, 2002), WSSD PrepCom 2 (New York, 2002), UNEP Global Ministerial Environment Forum (Cartagena de Indias, 2002) and the WSSD (Johannesburg, 2002).

She is a law graduate ( Complutense University, 1985-1990), holds two LL.Ms degrees: in environmental law from London University (1993) and in international legal studies from New York University (1996). In August 2002, A. Barreira was selected by the United Nations University Leadership Academy (UNULA) to participate in the course on 'Leadership on Environment and Human Security' hold in Amman and in Johannesburg. In 1993, she received the British Council European Young Lawyer Award in 1993. She is member of the BoD of the IWRA-Spanish Committee and of the IUCN Environmental Law Commission and Alumna of the Salzburg Seminar.

Ana Belkis Martí­nez Torres
Ana Belkis Martínez Torres was born in the province Villa Clara. Cuba. She was graduated in the year 1990 as Geologist engineer in the University “Hermanos Saiz Montes de Oca” in Pinar del Río, Cuba.
Their first labor activity carried out it in the Mining Geologist Company´s of the Center, Province of Villa Clara, as Hydro geologist engineer up to 1992. Starting from that date it began to labor in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Pinar del Rio, Cuba, acting as Environmental Specialist. During the stage their preparation continued in the Environmental topic. In the year 1992 were graduate of Máster in Geology and Environment, it was also selected by the UNESCO to participate in a course shop it has more than enough recovery of mining areas you degrade in the University of Countrysides, Brazil and in the University of Costa Rica. It has participated in numerous events, workshops, nationals and international relationed with the topic. In the year 2004 begin their preparation in the School of Mexico, until the year 2006, graduating as Leader in the Environmental Activity. Once obtained this recognition was promoted to occupy positions, acting as Directress in the Environmental Activity in the province Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Starting from that date it began their academic Doctorate, which is developing. It coordinates numerous environment Graduates. Ana Cláudia TARTALIA E SILVA
Ana Cláudia TARTALIA e Silva is a chemist and is doing a master's course in Environmental and Public Health at São Paulo University. She works at CETESB - Environmental Agency of São Paulo State in the headquarters.

In that State different departments giving different kinds of environmental permits. Her responsabilities include coordinating these different kinds of permits.

From 1998 to 2000 she worked redesigning the environmental permit in the State of São Paulo, and descentralization of environmental permits from State to local autorithies. She also worked in the permitting support to descentralized environmental agency units.

She has a master's degree in textile chemistry from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina (USA) and a degree in chemical engineering from Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, Mozambique.

ANA KARINA GONZALEZ LUTZENKIRCHEN

Ana Karina Gonzalez L�tzenkirchen is Coordinator of the Trade and Environment Programme at the Centro Mexicano de Derecho Ambiental, A..C., a leading environmental NGO based in Mexico City. She is responsible for developing and executing a series of projects aimed at promoting the discussion and understanding of the trade and environment debate related issues in Mexico and the American continent as part of various NGO networks.

Before rejoining CEMDA in January 1998 she was responsible of adapting a self assessment programme for environmental performance targeted to industry at the consulting firm Gal�z, G�mez Morf�n, Chavero, Yamazaki. She also taught the course on international policy and the environment at her former University, Universidad Iberoamericana to undergraduates and to Diploma courses students. Before she worked for the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Relations at the Regional Organisms Direction assisting in the development of various projects.

Ana Karina has recently published various book chapters on trade and environment related issues and coordinated a research project on trade impacts on deforestation in Mexico. Currently she is coordinating a research project on trade impacts on basic grains in Mexico. Her interests at work focus on international policy (economic integration and trade liberalization specifically) and environmental issues. Academically she is interested in the evolution of the regime theory and its application to environmental international governance. She would be interested in undertaking a PhD on this subject.

Ana Karina holds a degree on international relations, with a diploma course by Universidad Iberoamericana and a MPhil on environment and development from the University of Cambdrige.

Ana Laura LARA DOMÍNGUEZ
Lara DOMINGUEZ is a professor at the Ecology Institute, A.C. She specializes in ecology and management of coastal lagoons and estuaries, mangroves and seagrasses ecosystems, and nekton community. She has participated in projects supporting protected coastal areas such as Laguna de Terminos in the southern part of the state and in the Region de los Petenes. Both regions are ecological protected areas for wild fauna and flora. In addition, she is working as a consultant and is currently preparing three books: 'Mangroves Ecosystems in Latin America: Structure, Function and Management'; 'Ecology of Coastal Zone: Select Topics'; and 'Economic Valuation of Mangroves Ecosystems'. She has published more than 45 articles. She has a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's in marine sciences. She is a Ph.D. in marine sciences, focusing on fisheries and biological oceanography.

Ana Lucia DA CRUZ coordinates the National Council for the Environment for Brazil's Ministry of Environment, Water Resources and Legal Amazon. In the governmental sector, she was involved in the Agrarian Reform Program in Brazil for five years. She has been concerned with public policies affecting ecosystems in the Amazon region through her work at the Institute for Amazonian and Environmental Studies in the United States and the World Resource Institute in Brazil. She has a bachelor's degree in agronomy from the University of Brasilia and a master's degree in international development policy from Duke University (USA).

Ana Luz QUINTANILLA MONTOYA
Ana Luz QUINTANILLA Montoya is a full-time researcher at the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (UABC) in the Instituto de Investigaciones Oceanol�gicas, and she was also the scientific editor of Ciencias Marinas, the most recognized scientific journal in marine sciences in Mexico (1992-2001). Her work has been published in international journals, and a multidisciplinary book concerning alternative energy resources in Baja California, Mexico will be published by the UABC in 2002. She has also contributed chapters to several books and has participated in national and international meetings of science editing. She has also worked with municipal and state authorities to promote the use of renewable energy resources in rural areas of Mexico.

She received a Ph.D. with honors in coastal oceanography from the UABC. Her thesis, �Technology Assessment System for the Alternative Energy Resources of the Rural Communities of the Pacific Coastal Zone of Baja California, Mexico,� focused on the search for alternative energy resources that could improve quality of life in poor rural communities without causing environmental damage. Her bachelor's degree is from the School of Marine Sciences at the UABC (1984), and her master's degree in applied geophysics is from the Centro de Investigaci�n Cient�fica y Educaci�n Superior de Ensenada (CICESE) (1990). She also took graduate courses at the University of California.

Ana María MARTINEZ VAZQUEZ
ANA MARIA MARTINEZ VAZQUEZ

Ana Maria MARTINEZ VAZQUEZ is a chemist and works at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Instituto de Investigaciones en Materiales) as a chemistry teacher and as researcher on theoretical chemistry. Some of the studies that she had done are related with the nitric oxides. Nitric oxides are molecules that can take in corrosion and pollution problems. Her main goal in this aspect is to understand the reactivity of these molecules with metal clusters, in order to see if nitric oxides can be eliminated with catalytic surfaces. She worked at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana-Iztapalapa for 10 years. She has written several textbooks for high school and for the first university courses. In those books, didactical aspects and environmental education has been takes into account. She is an independent professor with the PhD level in theoretical chemistry. As a chemistry teacher, the influence that she has on the student's attitudes is relevant, and for this reason it is important to have a background on the environmental problems and possible solutions.

Ana Nassar is currently Environmental Manager at 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Local Organising Committee.

She is graduated in International Relations at the Pontificia Universidade Catolica in Sao Paulo and completed a Master programme in Political Science at the University of Brasilia.

Her professional experience include working at the British Embassy in Brazil as sustainable development and climate change project manager. Previously, she worked at the Ministry of Strategic Affairs (Presidency of the Federative Republic of Brazil), Ashoka, Museum of the Person and at the American Chamber of Commerce.

Ana ORTIZ MONASTERIO QUINTANA
Ana ORTIZ-MONASTERIO is an independent consultant and coordinator of the non-governmental organisation, Redes para la Dibversidad, la Equidad y la Sustentabilidad, A.C. She gives advice and support to government agencies in relation to participatory sustainable development and biodiversity conservation and use, and is currently moving towards supporting sustainable community-based project through direct assistance and links to funding sources, academic support and relevant organizations.

She has played a key role in the Mexican Federal Government in the development of the first law that, instead of regulating a productive activity based on certain natural living resources, integrated measures for the conservation and sustainable use of all wild species and their natural habitats. She has also participated in other law and policy making processes to support related to Mexican genetic, species and ecosystem diversity. She supports participatory learning linked to these topics and her research interests in different countries have also been linked to the, focusing on aspects of equity, power, knowledge, diversity, gender and participation.

Ana is a lawyer, with a MPhil in Development Studies from the UK based Institute of Development Studies, at the University of Sussex, Brighton.

Ana Paula SPOLIDORO QUEIROZ
Ana Paula S. Queiroz is from São Paulo, Brazil and has a bachelor's degree in biological sciences specialising in environmental management and a MSc in microbiology from the University of São Paulo. She has worked in environmental education and has developed scientific work in environmental microbiology, specifically determining virological indicators of domestic pollution. She worked for two years at ERM on a soil bioremediation project as well as on environmental management system implementation. Today Ana works at Waterloo Brasil - a Canadian organisation, on underground water resource management as well as contaminated site investigation and remediation.

Analzita MÜLLER
In the past, Ms. Muller worked as a legal advisor with the First Intermunicipal Partnership for the Conservation of the Cuiaba River Basin and with the Prefeitura Municipal de Cuiaba. Currently, she works as a coordinator in the Environmental Protection Agency of the Fundacao Estadual de Meio Ambiente. As an attorney, she is active in the field of environmental law Institute of the State University of New York in the United States, is interested in public policy and environmental legislation, specifically as they relate to Brazilian rainforests and wetlands. She is a member of the Instituto de Pesquisas e Estudos Ambientais and Pro-Natura International, a non-governmental organization active in environmental protection. She participated in the International Environmental law Conference in Rio de Janeiro in October 1991, the Global Forum also in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and the First Meeting of Environmental Attorneys in 1994 in Saluador, Brazil.

Anar MESHIMBAEVA works as a Head of the Systems Research Center, Presidential Administration Republic of Kazakhstan. Previously she worked as General Director of the Institute of Economic Research of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Befor she worked in this Ministry in position the Deputy Head of the Department of Regional Policy and Inter-budget Relations. Previously she worked as a Head of the Department of social - economic analysis of the Agency of Strategic Planning of RK.

Before she worked as the scientific employee in the Institute of Economy for Russian Academy of Sciences at the Center of macroeconomic policy.

A. Meshimaeva's post-graduate and doctoral work is in economics from the Moscow State University. During her studies she was the economist on the Committee on Statistics of Commonwealth of the Independent States.

Anatoly Viktorovith POLYAKOV
Anatoly V. POLYAKOV is assistant director of the project 'Crossroads of Civilization,' a regional public endeavor launched in 1995 to revive nature, historic and cultural heritage of the region. He is also a pulmonary and homeopathic doctor who lives and works in Volgograd (formerly Tsaritsyn and Stalingrad). His interest in the interdependence of ecological, social and public problems was first inspired at meetings of the Society of Scientists and public organizations belonging to the Ecological Parliament of the Volga Basin and North Caspian area. Since 1990, he has worked on ecological problems with specialists from several different branches of science.

Anders HAGFELDT
Anders HAGFELDT has been an assistant professor in the department of physical chemistry at Uppsala University since October 1994. His research focuses on photo-electrochemistry, surface physics, and chemistry. He has received awards for his research from the Swedish societies of sciences. From an applied viewpoint, his research is directed toward photovoltaics, batteries, displays and catalysis. He is a member of the executive committee of Angstrom Solar Center, a new national solar energy center. He is also participating in a joint governmental and industrial program called Vision 21: Energy Systems for the Future. He hopes that his experience in the LEAD program will help him to integrate different aspects of renewable energy into his work and improve his interdisciplinary approach.

Anders WIJKMAN
Anders Wijkman is a Member of the European Parliament and Ambassador of the Swedish Foreign Ministry. His former positions include Assistant Secretary General at the UN and Policy Director at UNDP and Director General of the Swedish Agency for Research Cooperation with Developing Countries (SAREC).

In Sweden, he has been a member of several government task forces on issues related to environment, sustainable development, energy, foreign aid etc. During 1992-94 Mr Wijkman chaired a special government commission analysing the possible effects for Sweden's physical environment of joining the European Union. In 2000, he participated in the high-level expert panel on 'ICT (information and communication technologies) for development'; appointed by the UN secretary general.

He was educated at Stockholm University. He was President of the Disaster Relief Commission of the International Red Cross from 1981-1989 and Secretary General for the Swedish Red Cross 1979-1988. His publications include several books related to disaster prevention, sustainable development, and HIV/Aids. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the World Academy of Art and Sciences as well as the Club of Rome.

André Knewitz LEVY
André K. LEVY works at the Center for Support to Small Farmers, Erexim/RS (CAPA), where he provides support in ecological agriculture production, organization and commercialization for groups of small farmers. He is also an instructor in several courses related to ecological production and social organization. He worked as adviser in the Bureau for Planning and Housing, City Hall of Alvorada-RS in 1998; ARIP Agro industrial LTDA in 1999; and the Cooperative of Ecologists Citricultors from Vale do Ca� (ECOCITRUS) from 1997 to 1999. He was also involved in the creation and development of REDE ECOVIDA de Agroecologia.

A.K. Levy graduated with a degree in agronomy from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He participated in trainee programs on fauna management through the Carnivores Project Foz do Iguacu(1991) and Trindade Island Expedition TAMAR IBAMA Project (June-August 1994). He has also participated in training courses on ecological agriculture, project elaboration and business management.

André Luiz Rodrigues GONÇALVES
Andre Luiz Rodrigues GONCALVES is an agronomist and currently he is in a PhD program in the field of Crop and Soil Science at Cornell University USA. He got a fellowship from The Fulbright OAS Ecology Initiative to undertake his studies. Prior to coming to Cornell he was the office coordinator of the Ecological Agriculture Center in Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state in Brazil. Among his functions was: the coordination a staff of ten people, elaboration of projects for funding, institutional representation, courses and direct advisement in ecological agriculture for smallholders' families. He got a master degree in sustainable agriculture at the Imperial College at Wye - University of London, and he also participated in International courses at the United Nations University - Tokyo, Japan.

Andre DONAS
Andre Donas Muluk, was a copywriter for the creative department of Adwork Advertising Agency in Jakarta, has also worked as a journalist for Anak Kita magazine. He received a bachelor's degree in archaeology from the University of Indonesia and studied philosophy at the School of Philosophy of Triyarkara, both in Jakarta. He is interested in educating society on environmental issues, and through LEAD, hopes to gain the necessary knowledge to do so effectively.

He was working as Creative Director for Pernic Advertising on 2002 and for The Agency Advertising. On February 2004 he joined the Hotline Advertising also as a creative director. Now he works for Satu Citra Advertising in Jakarta since 2,5 years ago.

Since May 2008, he re-joined his previous office at the Hotline Advertising as Executive Creative Director, until now.

Andre Fernando MUGGIATI MONTEIRO
André Muggiati is 32 years old and has a bachelor's degree in Journalism from USP (São Paulo University).

From 1994 to 1998, Muggiati worked as a reporter for Folha de S. Paulo, one of the main Brazilian newspapers, where he has occupied the post of correspondent in the Amazon Region. There, he investigated and wrote reports on subjects concerning politics, economy, science, entertainment and environment, frequently travelling throughout the Amazon.

After leaving the newspaper in 1998, Muggiati began to work as a freelance journalist for several publications. In 1999, he wrote, directed and edited a documentary video about the Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve in the Amazon flooded forests, showing the difficulties of the implementation of a development project focused on preservation.

From 2000 to 2002, he has been the editor of the www.amazonia.org.br website, maintained by Friends of the Earth - Amazon. In 2002 he was sponsored by UN Foundation to cover the World Summit on Sustainable Development, in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this year, he also finished another video documentary 'The Next Petrobras Accident', about a gas pipeline project that shall cut through pristine areas of the Amazon Forest.

From July 2003 to June 2004, Muggiati worked as Communications Consultant for Ibama (Brasil's environment protection agency) and UNDP (United Nations Development Program), in the elaboration of the Action Plan Against Deforestation in the Amazon.

Since June 2004, Muggiati is a Communications Consultant for Greenpeace - Amazon Campaign, in Manaus.

André Germany de BOER
André de Boer dedicates his career to renewable energy and energy saving. He is working for the Dutch Agency for Energy and Environment (NOVEM) and is responsible for stimulating implementation of biomass in the Netherlands, focussing on digestion techniques. Before he worked at the Dutch Energy Research foundation (ECN) working on market development study on wind energy in Kazakhstan. Prior to this position he was energy specialist for the city of Nijmegen, where he was concerned with communication, energy and environmental policy issues. Primary goals were the development of a city-owned wind-energy park and helping the city to compete in a free energy distribution market. Before this position, he lived in Moscow and worked on a study on the potential of renewable energy in the Central Asian New Independent States.

Mr de Boer studied astronomy and physics at the Utrecht University. He has additional degrees in management & policy and energy&environment.

Andre Rahendrawan
Andre RAHENDRAWAN was a president director of a venture capital investments company. The company has a mandate to foster venture capital investments in small and medium sized enterprises throughout Indonesia's provinces. His company and its affiliates have 6,600 participating businesses, including some that are operated by indigenous population groups. The company also runs training programs. He is interested in establishing environmental considerations and principles of sustainability and incorporating them in company policies and training programs. Thru scholarship from a Japanese Computer Manufacturer he has a master's degree from an American university and further training in Japanese business practices. In 2003,in PT Bahana Securities he promoted as senior transactor.

February 2004, Mr. Rahendrawan joined The Nagadi Ekasakti as senior consultant.

Andre Ricardo MENEZES DE OLIVEIRA
Andre Ricardo MENEZES de Oliveira is a banker now working for an european international bank: Barclays Bank Plc. as Associate Director.

A. R. Menezes has a large history in private/business sector and worked for strategic multinational brazilian groups with interests in construction, petrochemicals and banking among one he remarks Odebrecht.

He worked for Shell, Britisch American Tobacco and PricewaterhouseCoopers as well.

Additonally he has a long background in social work developing volunteer jobs since his adolescence and with a 3 years job position at Odebrecht Foundation, one of largest Foundations in Brazil.

He developed projects in social sector such as: recycling, education&training, tourism, social entrepreuniship and sustainability.

Toghether this background gives him outstanding to deal with private and public sector, which includes governamental (e.g. local, state and federal) and multilateral institutions (e.g. IDB, OAS and World Bank) negotiations skills

Andrea Agnes DERI
Andrea DERI, independent consultant specialised on capacity development and research initiatives to promote sustainable development.

During her 20+ years international career Andrea held various senior capacity development positions at LEAD International, London; Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan; Institute for Sustainable Communities, Vermont, USA; US Peace Corps, Hungary; U.K. Field Studies Council's Hungarian Foundation, Hungary.

As a freshwater ecologist, Andrea conducted research on the Danube at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She has a MSc degree in biology from Eotvos L. University, Budapest. Her honors include grants from the Soros Foundation at University of Toronto, and from the Rockefeller Foundation at IGES, Japan. She is a LEAD Fellow, member of Balaton Group and the Board of Directors of the Global Community Initiative and IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC).

As a trainer, Andrea has been promoting active & interactive approaches to adult learning by working collaboratively with government agencies, NGOs, intergovernmental organizations, academic institutions, and local communities.

Andrea's special interests include learning (especially eLearning, online learning), knowledge systems (especially indigenous knowledge) and their role in resilience and adaptive capacity, scenario building, system thinking and innovative approaches to decision-making.

Andrea CRUZ is the current Coordinator of the State Strategies on Biodiversity in the National Commission of the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO). She is responsible of promoting and coordinating States-level implementation activities of the Convention of Biological Diversity.

Before her current position Andrea was an independent consultant for some forest certification agencies. She conducted more than dozen forest evaluations, annual audits and peer reviews in different timber harvest communities, ejidos and private forest lands in Mexico.

Her interests and work experience have focused on the assessment and evaluation of the effects on biodiversity (specially birds) of the human-managed habitats in order to promote ecologically sound management techniques. She is particularly interested in biodiversity conservation issues, sustainable use of and conservation of natural resources.
Andrea is a biologist by training with 15 years experience in Ornithology, with a PhD from the Instituto de Ecología, A. C. of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico.
