Alison Jane Pritchard
I am a Consultant in Public Health working for the NHS employed by Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust (PCT). I have a Masters in Public Health and am a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (FFPH).

I provide public health leadership and specialist expertise to the PCT across the range of public health competencies, interpreting, advising on and implementing national and local policies and guidance in order to deliver public health action to improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities.

My lead areas are substance misuse, the health of older people and public health aspects carbon management / sustainable development.

Aliya Nguyen
Ms. Aliya Nguyen Agha is currently working for the International Labour Organization, on its first gender specific project. She has also served as a consultant for international organizations, namely DFID and GTZ. She practiced corporate law for over 10 years, prior to joining the development sector. She worked as Economic Advisor with the European Commission Delegation in Pakistan. She facilitated in the preparation of investment guide for Pakistan. Ms. Nguyen holds a masters’ degree in corporate law from University College London, UK. She is a Chevening Scholar and has published articles to her credit, on legal and social issues.

Aliyu YAHAYA-GUSAU
Aliyu YAHAYA-GUSAU is a deputy director and head of the budget unit at the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. In past positions, he was the head of the industrial department of Sokoto State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and also head of the planning, research and statistics department of the Natural Resources Conservation Council (NARESCON). He represented NARESCON on the Nigeria/Niger joint commission and has served on the boards of several companies owned by Sokoto State Government. He is interested in environmental policy development and environmental economics and auditing. His bachelor's degree in economics is from Ahmadu Bello University and his master's degree in money and finance is from the University of Jos.

Allan Chiyembekeza
Allan Chiyembekeza received a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree from the University of Malawi, Master of Science Degree and a PhD in Agronomy from the University of Florida, USA. He has for several years worked as Plant Breeder with the Malawi Ministry of Agriculture. He later worked for ICRISAT Malawi as a visiting Scientist and as a Country Representative. He also worked for Harvest Help Find Your Feet (HHFYF) as an Agricultural Advisor and later taught at the Natural Resources College, Malawi.

Allan Chiyembekeza is currently a Member of Parliament for one of the Constituencies in Malawi and is the Chairperson for the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture and Natural resources.

Allen Michael Manser
Allen Manser is currently based in Africa working for the William J. Clinton Foundation as part of the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI). Prior to joining the Clinton Foundation, he spent almost two years as a management consultant at Accenture, where he contributed to strategic work in the resources and high-tech sectors. Mr. Manser is also a co-founder and director of Canadian communications technology startup Cloudtel. He actively contributes to his alma mater coaching undergraduate business case competition teams and as a councilor on the Future Alumni Leaders Council of the University of British Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Sauder School of Business.

Mr. Manser is fascinated by the role that for-benefit business models, inter-disciplinary approaches, and bottom-up entrepreneurship can play in addressing the some of the world’s most pressing challenges including accessible global healthcare, energy independence, and poverty reduction. Because the concept of sustainability must apply across the board in social, financial, and environmental contexts he strongly believes that disciplined ideation, scalable technology, and business processes that contribute to sustainable wealth creation are fundamental in addressing these challenges. Also, he is very interested in the design of exceptional conscious learning environments for the education of young leaders worldwide, which he believes is fundamental for enabling current and future generations to take responsibility for affecting significant change.

Alma Abreu is Chief of the Diagnosis Department at the Department of Environment of the State of Mexico; she is participant in the
management and pursuit of the measures related to the enhancement of air quality at the Mexico Valley Metropolitan Zone.
Before joining the Government of the State of México, Alma collaborated in CIEAAC, a ONG with the mission of supporting
Studies and Projects, for setting Public Policy in Environmental Matter at the State of Mexico.
Her interests and work experience have focused her work to the policy to address environment and development concerns in
metropolitan zones. She is particularly interested in issues of health, environment, transport and mobility and energy, related to
measures of mitigation and adaptation to Climate Change.
Alma is an economist by training, with a BD from the Metropolitan Autonomous University in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City and
specialization on Environmental Management from the National Institute of Public Administration.

Altaf Ahmed ABRO
Mr. Abro is a researcher. He is currently working on Public Policy Ph.D. dissertation at the University of Arkansas, USA. Prior Ph.D. program, he earned master degree in Rural, Regional Development Planning from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He also has several local and foreign short course training/certificates to his credit.

Mr. Abro has over ten years of socio-economic research experience and has good understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and has excellent analytical, writing and oral presentation skills. He has expertise in monitoring and evaluation of water and sanitation, irrigation, agriculture, rural development, natural resources, and environmental projects. During his previous development work assignments, he has remained actively involved in planning and managing the community participation activities, project reporting and evaluation to contribute to optimization of sustainability and effectiveness of development projects.

His areas of professional and intellectual interests are climate change, mitigating disasters and conflicts, water policy, food security and agriculture, natural resources management, economic development, and poverty alleviation. A. Firman has a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Hawaii, USA, and a bachelor's degree from the Institute of Technology of Bandung. She also studied development management at the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines.

Aman Singh
Aman Singh holds a M.Sc. (Master of Science) degree and Training in Environment Education‐ a post graduate Diploma in Environment and Development, and is also a graduate of the Environmental Leadership Program (ELP), University of California. He has taken part in several month-long courses, such as ‘Deep Ecology & Bioregionalism’ at Schumacher College, England. He is proficient in Hindi and English languages, and can follow and read several local languages and dialects like Rajasthani, Mewati etc.

Work and achievements- Aman Singh is the Founder of “Krishi Avam Paristhitiki Vikas Sansthan” (KRAPAVIS), a voluntary organisation which works to revive orans or sacred groves of Rajasthan. In the past 20 years in KRAPAVIS, Aman Singh has overseen the regeneration of hundreds orans, and has taken initial steps to influence policy changes and legislation in the state. One of its most important results can be seen in the recently published Rajasthan State Forest Policy 2010, which includes the local population in the management of orans. Considering that “orans are islands of good forests and repositories of rich biodiversity. These orans are excellent examples of people’s religious faith linked with conservation,” the state authorities acknowledge the ideas that KRAPAVIS has been advocating for long.

The success of initiatives is evidenced by that Aman Singh receive numerous awards and Fellowships. Government of Rajasthan/ Forest Department has awarded his organisation as “Vraksha Vardhak Puruskar” (Tree Conservation Award) of the year 2008-09, for forest conservation through orans. Also, it has been awarded as finalists for the UNDP’s Equat¬or Prize¬ 2012. Aman Singh has been awarded “Asian Technical Award 2008” for orans renovation. In 2004, ASHOKA: The Global Association of Leading Social Entrepreneurs recognised Aman Singh as a leading social entrepreneur for his innovative revival of orans. He is also a LEAD Fellow. ‘Trees for the Future’ USA has also awarded him. He received several sponsorships/fellowships from different international agencies like UNDP, UNOCHA, IFAD/ ILC, UNDP/WISP, Schumacher College U.K., Ford Foundation and University of California etc.

He is the author of nine monographs (small books) and about hundred articles concerned with orans, rural ecology and pastoralism, as well as an editor of a quarterly newsletter “Devbani Re Baat” (i.e. news bulletin on sacred forests) publishes in Hindi language, so far 22 issues have been published of it. He has presented at international level in various meetings/ conferences/ workshops in different about a dozen countries like India (of course, own country), England, Ethiopia, Scotland, Tanzania, France, Indonesia, Kenya, Bulgaria and USA etc.

Amatevi Raoul KLUTSE
Raoul Amatevi Klutse is an agricultural economist with over 15 years of experience in agricultural development, statistical and economic analysis, and information systems management.

He has been working since 1998 at the International Center for Soil Fertility and Agricultural Development as Information System Manager for the profitability of agricultural input use in Africa. For this purpose, he is developing a decision support tool, which allows the users to be aware of the possibilities to invest in agriculture in its sustainable manner, and to monitor the profitability of input use over time and space. He is also coordinating the AFAMIN network activities in West Africa through the management of the site www.afamin.net as well as working on the edition of the liaison bulletin of AFAMIN Togo.

Since January 2005, he is confirmed as in-country Coordinator for an USAID project (MISTOWA)related to Agricultural Market Information Systems (MIS) and Trade Organization (TO) .

Basically trained in the areas of agricultural economy at the University of Lome, Togo, he specialized in agricultural policy analysis at IDEP Dakar, Senegal and received on job trainings on database design and management at the University of Wageningen, The Netherlands and some specific courses on the website design and management, lobbying and advocacy for development.

He is founder member of Togo Lead Association and is the current General Secretary. He is author or co-author of some ten scientific documents.

Amba JAMIR
Amba JAMIR is a development consultant and Director, The Missing Link (TML India) - Society for Environment and Communication, that works in the Eastern Himalayan region, particularly Northeast India. His responsibilities, amongst others include developing capacity building programmes, participatory action research, and networking and policy advocacy.

As a trainer/consultant he has undertaken assignments on rural development, development communication and policy advocacy and networking in numerous Asia-Pacific countries including Japan, Cambodia, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Philippines, Mongolia.

A. JAMIR is a 4th term member of the IUCN's Commission on Education and Communication (CEC); Member, Task Force on Mountain Ecosystems (Environment), Planning Commission, Government of India; and Member, National Steering Committee (UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme) Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India. Amba has twice been elected as Fellow Director to the Board of Directors, LEAD India.

A. Jamir is a trained environment educator and communicator with a degree in law and specialised on environmental law. Besides being a Communications trainer, he also trains/facilitates organisations in Outcome Mapping, Systematization and other Participatory Methodologies of planning, monitoring, eveluation and documentation.

(Hons) degree with a major in Economics and a minor in Mathematics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). At LUMS, her senior project was titled, 'Corruption and Its Impact on Economic Growth and Development'. Ms. Malik has held internships at Citbank, Islamabad, and Societe-Generale, Islamabad. At LEAD-Pakistan, Ms. Malik is involved in the selection process for the next cohort, human resource development, and fundraising.

Ambroise FOUTOU
Ambroise Urbain FOUTOU works, since January 2003, as an Engineer responsible for water project studies and environment within the Direction of Planning of ENERGIE DU MALI - EDM SA.EDM SA, the malian society which produces and distributes potable water and electricity in Mali.

His main responsibilities include supervision of all water projects, development and implementation of environmental management system, draft Terms of References (ToRs) for Environmental Impact Assessment Studies, monitoring and evaluating the environmental aspects of projects, recommending mitigation measures and Environmental management plans to improve on Environmental Assessment.

Prior this function, Mr. FOUTOU was Head of Development / Environment Department within the Engineering Consultants Company ICOTED International. His responsibilities included development projects formulation and implementation on rural and urban areas, environmental impact assessment and studies of all projects realized by ICOTED International.

Between 1996 and 1999, Mr. FOUTOU was Responsible of environment within AGRICONGO Institute. He coordinated all of training, economic studies and research missions for the experimental project AVOBRA, financed by the European Union and which concerns the collection and the recycling of the domestic garbage in certain districts of Brazzaville.

From 1993 to 1995, Mr. FOUTOU has been the responsible if projects studies within 'Société Congolaise de Technologies' in Ponte Noire - CONGO. He managed the drinking water supply project in the west and south districts of Pointe Noire.During this period, he also served as an advisor within the local representation of NGO 'Forum des Jeunes Entreprises de Comafrique', and helped many young Congolese for creating their micro and small enterprises.

Mr FOUTOU has worked as a Consultant on environmental impact assessment for many Engineering Company in Mali and CONGO-Brazzaville (ETHIIQS Technologies SARL, CIRA SARL, BGET, INGERCO,IMPACT PLUS) and for German,French and luxembourgian Agencies for technical cooperation.

Mr. FOUTOU holds Civil Engineer degree in hydraulic from 'Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs' of Bamako- Mali and Civil Engineer degree in environment, from 'Ecole Mohammadia d'Ingénieurs' of Rabat- Morocco.

Mr. FOUTOU took part in several seminars on climate change, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), the Environmental Impact Assessment and the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).

He is also qualified in the fields such as the capacity building; the conception, the follow-up and the evaluation of the projects of development.

He is the author of the following technical documents: the management of the domestic garbage in Bamako- Mali (1996); the management of the domestic garbage in Ouagadougou -Burkina Faso (1997); the management of the domestic garbage in the main cities of CONGO Brazzaville (1999); legislative, statutory and institutional Frame and procedures of environmental impact studies in Mali (2003).

He is co-founder of National Association of LEAD, LEAD MALI and currently the President. He is also a member of some environmental group as Club Vetiver, Malian Environmental Impact Studies Association (AMEIE), Groupe GIRE 2005 ( Integrated Water Resources Management group).

His interests include environment and sustainable development, solid and water waste management, Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), Ecohealth approach, Corporate Social Responsability (CSR), climate change, human right; Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

Amelia Louise SHAW
Amelia SHAW is Manager of Public Affairs at the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA). She is responsible for managing CUTA's government relations work, which includes the development of a long-term advocacy strategy, support for CUTA's continued involvement in the Climate Change Action Plan and strengthening partnerships with other associations. Ms. Shaw is the project manager and chair of the National Task Force to Promote Employer Provided Tax-Exempt Transit Benefits. She was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Carleton Training Board and is a member of the Governor General's Canadian Study Coference 2000, National Program Committee. She remains a member at large of the Amalgamated Transit Union.

She is interested in the application of environmental principles in banking operations and the role of financial institution in sustainable development. She has a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from Bayero University, Kano, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, both in Nigeria.

Amina AKIDA
Amina AKIDA is a forest resources management specialist and trained as a holistic interdisciplinary forester. She is extensively being involved in planning of forestry activities, and management of forestry and beekeeping information systems at the Forestry and Beekeeping Division. She exhibits knowledge, skills and commitments in planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring and evaluation experiences in issues of involving local communities in the conservation and management of forest resources for sustainable environment and development.

Amina has undergone various training that enhances her capacity in that field. Her employment in forestry dates back since 1986, where she was actively working with local communities, especially mobilizing women, schools and youths in villages to participate in forestry activities.

Since 1997 to date Amina has been for full time involved in planning and in management of forestry and beekeeping information systems.

Amina has obtained her forestry and environment education from Tanzania and Norway. She has technical training (diploma), BSc. and MSc. degrees in forestry and natural resources management.

Aminata Sarr
Aminata Sarr is an industrial engineer with 12 years’ experience in organization and process optimization, which includes Quality, Safety and Environment management.
She graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique Féminine of Paris with an Engineering Degree in Production and Industrial Engineering, and From Columbia University in New York with a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.
She is currently working with Shell Senegal as the Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Implementer for the Supply and Distribution department. Her role is to support the department in order to ensure compliance with HSSE standards and regulations.
When not at work, Aminata enjoys socializing with friends and exercising.

Dr. Said received his Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Punjab University, Lahore. After working in one of the production departments of Packages Limited in Pakistan, he went on to earn his Ph.D. from Sheffield University in the UK. His doctoral work focused on fuels (coal). Dr. Said is currently working as head of Research and Development Departmet at Packages Limited. The research areas include pulping, papermaking and packaging materials development.

Amira SOLANO Is Director of Environment Impact and Renewable Sourses on the Environmental and Natural Resources Secretarie (SEMARNAT) Berore That, She was adviser on waste solid management,in Mexico City Goverment. She was Adviser of the Environmental and Water Secretarie , on Morelos State, She also was adisor of the Mexican Parlament of the National Action Party (PAN) in the Environmental Comission of the Party, She was Deputy delegate of environmental management in SEMARNAT (Environmental and Natural Resourses Secretary)in Quintana Roo State, since August 2003 until now, she was encharged of the Delegation for 3 months (Jan. Feb. Mar. 2004) She was director of Solano Consultores S.A. de C.V., a Mexican leader consultant company in Hydraulics, Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, where she used to supervise the quality of the company's environmental studies. She also was general manager in a company: Environmental Engineering Services S.A. de C.V. In this position since 1994, she was responsible for directing and coordinating two divisions. The training division produces courses on environmental issues, chemical analytical instrumentation and human development. The environmental engineering division is involved in environmental impact studies, environmental risk analysis, environmental audits, waste water studies and projects, and solid wastes studies. From 1994 to 1995, she was a consultant on environmental control regulation for the Sustainable Development and Environment Ministery of Bolivia. From 1991 to 1994, she was general manager in ABC Studies and Projects S.A. de C.V. (a subsidiary of Jones & Neuse), where she directed, coordinated and conducted environmental studies.

A. Solano worked for the government from 1988 to 1991 in the National Water Commission (CNA) as an hydraulic specialist and from 1978 to 1988 in the Agriculture and Hydraulic Resources Secretary (SARH) occupying several positions from assistant to project head. She was Presidentof the Mexican Society of Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Sciences in Mexico City A.C, vice-president of the Mexican Federation of Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Sciences A.C (FEMISCA, actually she coordinates that vicepresidency). Amit Arulanantham
Amit is responsible for project managing LEAD's Community based Climate Change projects in India, Indonesia, Malawi, Mali, Senegal and Pakistan. He also has responsibility for monitoring and evaluation as well as designing and developing proposals for new projects.

Prior to LEAD, Amit worked in India with international development organisations including World Vision, The Leprosy Mission and Church's Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA). He was involved in the design, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of projects addressing issues of: Leprosy, TB, HIV, disability, social exclusion, sustainable livelihoods, women's empowerment, natural resource management and local governance. He also built excellent relationships with government officials, partners and international donors. His work in the UK has involved event fundraising with Christian Aid.

Amit has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development and a B.Com (Hons) in Accounts. He has a keen interest in community participation in sustainable development and is motivated by a desire to build the capacity of local communities to facilitate their own development.

Amit Kumar JAIN is an Additional Secretary for the Home Department, in Gangtok. He is responsible for timely policy management pertaining to law & order, policing, affairs of Council of Ministers, new policy legislation and computerisation et. al. He is also associated with the preparation of the State Human Development Report 2000 and Sikkim Vision, a perspective planning document emphasising sustainable development models for the State. In 1998-99 A. Jain worked for the Sikkim Finance & Development Corporation as Managing Director by creating a model watershed development project and also identified entrepreneurs, orchestrated the release of loan assistance for micro-enterprises and entrepreneurship development.

He previously worked as District Collector & Magistrate and Sub-divisional Collector & Magistrate where he managed land administration, development and compliance on district programs, calamity relief management, judicial work and conduct of elections.

His interests in the environment and development stress sustainable development models for Sikkim and continuing to work on applying GIS tools preparing models for watershed development schemes on the national level, and development of fuel-saving and efficient Gasifier based portable heating system for scientific curing of large cardamom.

I joined Business in the Community's environment campaign in August 2007. My role includes developing and delivering bespoke advisory services to businesses including environmental benchmarking; running the environmental Awards for Excellence; capturing and disseminating best environmental practice from BITC member companies; supporting and challenging businesses on non-climate change issues (for example waste, water and biodiversity) and reviewing the Royal Warrants for HRH the Prince of Wales and Her Majesty the Queen.

Previously I had been working in Mozambique as a corporate responsibility consultant in the tourism industry, focusing on environmental impact and community engagement among hotels. Prior to that, I worked for Solarcentury, and two years at the Department for International Development (DFID) in the Africa Division.
I also spent a year in India working in disaster mitigation.

I have an MA in Environment and Development and a BA in Geography. I am a Trustee of an HIV orphans charity and continue to volunteer for Sindisa Foundation, Mozambique.

Amjad SHAIKH
Mr. Shaikh is currently working with BP Azerbaijan and posted at Sangachal Terminal, one of the largest oil and gas terminals in the world. He is working there as Environmental Team Leader since 2007. Before joining Azerbaijan, he has worked in BP in Pakistan and UK.

Before joining BP, he worked for Lasmo Oil Pakistan as a Health Safety and Environment Advisor for three years (1998-2001). He earned extensive experience of oil and gas industry and was posted in their Kadnawari gas field and various other projects sites. He also worked as Community Relations Advisor for one year.

Mr. Shaikh's earlier professional experience includes: Environmental Consultant on the Environmental Technology Program for Industry Project (ETPI) during 1996-1998, Assistant Executive Engineer in the Communication and Works Department; Govt of Sindh; and working for Union Texas Pakistan on oil and gas exploration.

He holds a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Wayne State University, Michigan, United States, where he worked for two years in computer operations and databases. He also holds a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro.

In this capacity, he is responsible for the management of Education Program Area and develops and manages Education related projects. Mr Khan has over eight years experience of financial and operational management in private and autonomous government corporations. During that time, he assisted in policy formulation, planning and operational management of the public sector, specifically in the area of macroeconomic modelling.

Mr. Khan holds an MBA from Quaid-e-Azam University, a postgraduate diploma in computer based development planning techniques (DPT) from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), The Hague, Netherlands, and a bachelors in economics, statistics and mathematics from the University of Punjab.

Amos Peréz
Amos PEREZ is the Subdirector of Regionalization in Natural Resources Direction at INEGI in Aguascalientes. He is responsible for quality control of information of natural resources and projects of land evaluation, climate and cartography of the insular territory.

He has worked for INEGI since 1989, where he had had diverse positions in the organization. He has been: Pedology specialist; training administration in Cartography, Geography, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems; subdirector project of sample analysis of soil, rock, water and vegetation

He is a Biologist. Her interests and work experience recently has been focused in GIS applications on the study of the natural resources and the modeling of environmental phenomena.

He is also professor at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, where he teaches subjects like GIS, Ecological Ordering and Global Change. He also is a lecturer on themes like Natural resources and Globalization.

Among his hobbies is the practice of Buddhism.

Amparo María MARTÍNEZ-ARROYO
María Amparo MARTINEZ-ARROYO is a researcher in the Atmospheric Sciences Center of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), where she conducts extensive research on the relationship between atmosphere-biosphere focusing on aquatic primary producers. She is involved with an interdisciplinary course about regional and global environmental problems for postgraduate students. M.A. Martínez-Arroyo has a special interest in the dynamics of processes linking physical, biological, chemical and social aspects of environment. She has attended numerous international and regional conferences to discuss diverse aspects of marine phycology and ecology and she has published various works on the subject. M.A. Martínez-Arroyo has a Ph.D. in biology from the Universidad de Barcelona in Spain. Her master's and bachelor's degrees in biology are from UNAM in Mexico City.
