Wiwien T. WIYONOPUTRI has been working for the Centre for Tourism Planning and Development, Institute of Technology Bandung since 1992 and has recently established Jagaddhita, a firm of tourism consultants.

She is interested in the issue of sustainable tourism development, particularly in developing countries and has been involved in several local, regional as well as national tourism-related initiatives such as the preparation of National Agenda 21 for Tourism Sector and Tourism Law in Indonesia. During 2003-2004 she assisted RARE in implementing their Public Use Program which tries to link biodiversity conservation with sustainable tourism in two world heritage national parks in Indonesia -Ujung Kulon National Park and Komodo National Park. She assisted in the implementation of UN-WTO program on Tourism Development Supporting Biodiversity in Pangandaran in 2008.

She teaches tourism development-related issues in the university and has conducted trainings on sustainable tourism planning and development for government officials, academia, consultants/NGOs. She is always keen on supporting the development of environmental education and tourism programs for youngster. She was involved as core team in the Climate Smart Leader Program carried out by Sustainable Development Foundation/LEAD Indonesia.

She also wrote several articles on tourism and development, cultural tourism, village tourism and been the editor and co-editor for few publications of the centre.

Wiwien WIYONOPUTRI has bachelor degree in Regional and City Planning and master degree in Development Study focusing on tourism development. She has attended several courses on tourism development in the country and abroad.
