Amba JAMIR is a development consultant and Director, The Missing Link (TML India) - Society for Environment and Communication, that works in the Eastern Himalayan region, particularly Northeast India. His responsibilities, amongst others include developing capacity building programmes, participatory action research, and networking and policy advocacy.
As a trainer/consultant he has undertaken assignments on rural development, development communication and policy advocacy and networking in numerous Asia-Pacific countries including Japan, Cambodia, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Philippines, Mongolia.
A. JAMIR is a 4th term member of the IUCN's Commission on Education and Communication (CEC); Member, Task Force on Mountain Ecosystems (Environment), Planning Commission, Government of India; and Member, National Steering Committee (UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme) Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India. Amba has twice been elected as Fellow Director to the Board of Directors, LEAD India.
A. Jamir is a trained environment educator and communicator with a degree in law and specialised on environmental law. Besides being a Communications trainer, he also trains/facilitates organisations in Outcome Mapping, Systematization and other Participatory Methodologies of planning, monitoring, eveluation and documentation.
