Adebayo OKUWOBI is the Deputy General Manager Life Operations at Leadway Assurance Company. Mr. Okuwobi had a short spell at teaching at Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta between 1983 and 1984 where he taught Mathematics and Business Statistics before joining the services of Great Nigeria Insurance Company in 1985. While at GNI, he influenced the Computerization of the Company after obtaining a Diploma in Computer Studies from the University of Lagos and eventually became the pioneer head of Actuarial Services Department in 1988. Adebayo later moved on to AIICO Insurance Plc, an affiliate of ALICO (American Life Insurance Company) in 1992 and was elevated to the status of the head of Life Operations in 1995.

A trainer of trainers, Mr. Okuwobi at various times was part of several Faculties promoting knowledge sharing, skills and competency building, youth empowerment and moral development. As a community Leader, he has engaged in social development programmes in support of the poor, socially disadvantaged groups and collaborated with others in fighting moral decadence and social exclusion.

He is currently working on a pet project which aims at transforming the Nigerian Police Force given the key role that community needs to play in the nation's search for Good Governance, Peace, Social Stability, Economic Development, Equity and Justice.

Adebayo is an actuarial science graduate from the University of Lagos and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute, Atlanta Georgia, U.S.A. He is currently pursuing academic programs in Manpower Economics and Global Management.

His interest and work experience in the past few years cut across environmental and development issues, development of old age benefit plans and appraisal of the federal government pension scale of benefits.
