Ari Moch Arif is also known as Ari Muhammad. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University Catholic Parahyangan in 1995 he entered an environmental organization in Jakarta, ICEL - Indonesian Center for Environmental Law for four years. His outstanding capacities seem to have been recognized when he was appointed of Head of Advocacy Case and Alternative Dispute Resolution, after four years.
Great experiences in his career with ICEL followed when he joined with the Environmental Law Alliance World Wide - ELAW meeting in Sydney Australia. To increase his capacity in environmental public law, he was involved in Environmental Law Compliance Training in Sydney and Adelaide, Australia in 1999.

In early 2000, he resigned and moved to Clean Air Project/CAP – Swisscontact Foundation as a Legal Policy Analyst. Two years later, his institution appointed him as a Program Officer for Policy Reform and Dialogue. In this position, he gained a scholarship for a masters program to study Economic Law at the Faculty of Law - Indonesian University. His thesis was Indonesia Business Law Reform and Harmonization in WTO Agreement for Agriculture Sector, in 2003. Many articles on urban air pollution in KOMPAS and other media have been published by him. Several civil society organization trusted him to coordinate Clean Air Coalition for legislation making process on Clean Air Act in Jakarta Province. At the same time, he was also giving assistance to the Local Environmental Agency (BPLHD). New Delhi is place successfully to mitigate significantly air pollution, for this reason, in 2004 he went to Delhi and Agra, India for learning from government, civil society and private sector including automotive industry. In 2004, After he and his colleges succeeded to influence transportation agency and local parliament (DPRD) for developing independence institution (Dewan Transportasi Kota/DTK) to improve public transports management in Jakarta Province, his institution offered by Transportation Agency for facilitating public engagement and facilitator of institutional mechanism developed.

in August 2006, he left CAP-Swisscontact and now works on the Climate and Energy Program of WWF Indonesia as National Coordinator on UNFCCC Implementation. Government and civil society strengthening capacity is immediate concerning. Conferences of Parties (CoP) XII in Nairobi, Kenya was his first time in International negotiation process (to support his job, in 2007 he come in Asia Facilitator Workshop and Conference in Malaysia to increase his capacity in Negotiation and facilitation skills). Complexity interest of parties made him determined to do concrete something in national level. Indonesia as the vulnerability country of climate impact, gave him motivate to in depth adaptation measures. In his mind, local government or region have key role for good shown environmental leaderships.

He was born in 1971 in Bandung. He married Lilia Irawati, in 2000 and they have two children. A son, M. Haiqal Ali Syariaty was born in 2001 and a daughter, Raia Azzura in 2003.
