Mr. Shaikh is currently working with BP Azerbaijan and posted at Sangachal Terminal, one of the largest oil and gas terminals in the world. He is working there as Environmental Team Leader since 2007. Before joining Azerbaijan, he has worked in BP in Pakistan and UK.

Before joining BP, he worked for Lasmo Oil Pakistan as a Health Safety and Environment Advisor for three years (1998-2001). He earned extensive experience of oil and gas industry and was posted in their Kadnawari gas field and various other projects sites. He also worked as Community Relations Advisor for one year.

Mr. Shaikh's earlier professional experience includes: Environmental Consultant on the Environmental Technology Program for Industry Project (ETPI) during 1996-1998, Assistant Executive Engineer in the Communication and Works Department; Govt of Sindh; and working for Union Texas Pakistan on oil and gas exploration.

He holds a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Wayne State University, Michigan, United States, where he worked for two years in computer operations and databases. He also holds a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro.
