Aftab-ur-Rehman RANA received his Bachelors degree in commerce from the University of Punjab and has attended number of short courses on tourism management, wilderness leadership,ecotourism and adventure training. He is currently working as Tourism Industry Development Specialist with CNFA-Pakistan on a project of Tourism Revival in Earthquake Affected Areas of Northern Pakistan. He is also Vice President of Adventure Foundation of Pakistn, an organisation dedicated to promote environment education through outdoor activities. He has done pioneering work to introduce the concepts of environment friendly tourism in Pakistan.

He has received number of awards including the Trainer of the Year Award from the South Asia Tourism Human Resource Development Project (SATHRDP), Commonwealth Asia Award for Excellence in Youth Work and Better Pakistan-2010 Excellence Award in the field of Tourism.
