Dr. Abubakar Gofolo Lamorde obtained the B.Sc., D.V.M., M.P.V.M and Ph.D from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and the University of California, Davis, U.S.A. in 1970 and 1974 respectively.

Dr. Lamorde is currently the Director of the National Veterinary Research Institute, Vom, Jos. He later served as the Director-General of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Abuja.

He was a member of the Royal Institute for Public Administration, London (1971); Member, Council of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology; Member, Nigerian Association of Veterinary Public Health, and the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, President, Veterinary Council of Nigeria (1979) and Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Science Technology of Nigeria.
