Bellinda Aderonke ODENEYE is an assistant chief environmental scientist in the Environmental Assessment Department of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Lagos. She is the desk officer responsible for petroleum upstream and downstream operations in the Oil and Gas division which involves oil spills data collection compliance monitoring and enforcement visits to the various Oil companies,PAST Impacted sites monitoring of bioremediation and certification and the downstream industries making use of petroleum products.Event response to disasters caused by petrol product inferno is a major part of my schedule.

This present job started in January 1987 and has been her real working experience as others were Industrial training on two occasions at a pharmceutical companies and Graduate assistanceship at a University in Nigeria for one year service of the Nation. Past positions held include Principal Environmental scientist in charge of metallic and non-metallic mineral products unit of the Industrial compliance division. Senior environmental Scientist and scientific officer 1 and 2. in the following departments, Environmental quality,inspectorate and enforcement. Her job schedule has taken her to the western division office of Shell petroleum development company for 6 months industrial attachment. This was to foster a good working relationship between the Regulator and Facility Operators. She is interested in issues of good governance, health,waste management, gender, water and environment.

Belinda Aderonke Odeneye is an Industrial Chemist by training with a postgraduate degree in Environmental Pollution control from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. She is an active member of Nigerian Environmental Society, Nigerian Red cross Society, Friends of the Environment
