Uche Franka OWO-ONU is principal programs officer for the Nigerian Television Authority, where she produces programs based on her research. Specifically, she produces a series on child survival that highlights the health and social problems confronting Nigerian women and children and identifies possible solutions. She has produced more than 50 television programs on nutrition, environment and education and has participated in several workshops and seminars in Nigeria and abroad on topics of health and environment. She is most interested in the role of women in development.
U.F. Owu-Onu has a master's degree in industrial relations and personnel management from the University of Lagos and a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. In addition, she holds a certificate in television production and directing from the Abdul Razak Broadcasting Institute in Malaysia, and has participated in training on micronutrient malnutrition and child nursing.
