Miguel Bárcena DÃaz for more than 23 years has been a newscaster and investigative reporter for prominent Mexican television, TELEVISA NEWS and ECO; such as the Mexican version of 60 Minutes and 24-hours.As investigative reporter for 60 minutes for 12 years, he covered approximately 140 hour-long segments on environmental issues, international affairs and underwater documentaries. As a newscaster, his credits include 24-hours, Today Today and En Concreto. He also delivered several news segments, debate programas and special programs for ECO News International Service, broadcast live worldwide from Mexico City to all over the world.(1989-1999)
Between 1994 and 1995, he was co-founder and information director for BASURA the first environmental supplement of EPOCA Magazine. From 1980 to 1989, he worked in various capacities for Televisa News, the principal Broadcast Company in Latin America. He was an investigative reporter, correspondent, news anchor and general director of several investigative programs. He also developed environmental programming for Mexican television such as Ecology, Getting Deeper and 2000 Appointment. Mr. Barcena studied communications and tv production at the Iberoamerican University in Mexico City (1981) and journalism at the Navarra University in Pamplona, Spain (1988).
Since february 1999, is the general Director and Anchor for ABC News in ABC Radio in Mexico city and since october 2001, is the general News Director for INTELI TV (A Cable News System Brdocast Nationwide from Mexico City), where he conducts two daily news shows; 'De Frente' and 'Palabra por Palabra. He is also a teacher of Radio and Tv Journalism at the Panamerican University in Mexico City, and write articles about envioronmental ant tourism issues in several Mexican Magazines.
Since november 1999 he became the Vicepresident of the Historical Divig Society Mexico.
